I would use 13.5 mm laminate or even hardwood.

I used black tight weave carpet from Home Depot. Not original but easy on the knees.

I've got the information on the stuff Roger Jetter used in the back of his 60 Chevy wagon build he did on the HAMB. It's at home, let me know if you want it, and I can post it tomorrow.

There is a tri-five upholstery supplier on that site that offers a kit for 57 chevys that looks similar. $200.00 for the kit.
I know that some of the high trim level Chryslers used carpet. I may go that route.

$200??? Closer to $20 at a big Box home improvement store was why I went carpet. The tight weave carpet works well on floors too. Not sure about colors but black worked well for me on several vehicles.
Also check your local small town carpet stores and flea markets for remnants. I'm not cheap. I'm thrifty!

If you are looking for the correct vinyl material, SMS Interiors sells it. It won't be cheap (or thrifty).

    Thanks.
I hadn't thought about SMS, I should have. They are reproducing the interior door panels for my 61 Fury.

    Will.
