I see no other way to haul 4 kids on vacation than with a station wagon. There is nothing wrong with us, we are just recycling on a different scale then the average person.....

Jase, I don't know how you do it. I'll stick to my 7-330! And we are 'car guys' . It's what we do and what we love. I look at my car as a friend. I bought it to save some money orginally. Just was gonna use it, bought it for 500 bucks and figured if I did nothing to it, I could sell it for 1200. But I fell in love unfortunately and will have her forever now. People just gawk at it all the time, it's just a blast from the past to people and I get asked all the time about mileage, and the answer is, I just don't care. I don't drive that much, maybe 5,000 miles a year, I've only put 3,000 on since September. Everyone picks on these rides until they ride in it and feel the comfort. Then they understand, and usually when you explain that the thing'sl ike a friend and they can be like the lost sick puppy that you just have to help, they get the picture!

Yup, Thats how my wife was on our first date in my 80 Colony Park and she even made fun of the wood or as she put it "Mack Tack" The mack tack was the first thing she liked when she saw the Cutlass and the first thing she said when we test drove it was....."this rides just as smooth like your old Colony";)

My wagon is like another member of the family. It has been in my family since new, and I plan on keeping it forever. Once you drive a wagon, driving anything else is just not the same. Most of my friends laugh at the car and say that it is an old mans ride, but they quickly change their mind once they ride in 80’s luxury. Where ever I go I always get someone that says that the wagon is so cool and how their parents had one just like it when they were a kid, and how it brings back a lot of memories. Overall it is just a fun car to drive. It puts a smile on my face whenever I drive it. I also have a good laugh when one of my friend’s newer cars does not start, but I get into my 25 year old wagon and it fires right up.

I know what you mean, Pari. Everytime I got in my 88 Electra wagon I felt a deep sense of satisfaction.

i have owned many wagons in my life. in high school i drove my dads datsun 710 wagon it was grate at the drive inn, my current wagon is a 82 chevy suburban. i onced put a washer machine in an 88 subaru gl wagon. and not to long ago i loaded a 9hp rear tine tiller into volvo 245 wagon. i worked at a rental shop and most suv were useless for carrying such a large tiller, with most older wagons all that was needed was to leave the rear window down for the handles to stick out.
    wagons are very practical.
