The weather was fantastic here in Austin this past weekend and there were a TON of car-related events for Veteran's Day. I managed to go to three good gatherings and had a total BALL! Some AMAZING vehicles!! Saturday morning I got up early, tossed my folding chairs into the Roadmaster, and the boys and I drove down to Bastrop Texas for the Veteran's Day Car Show. They closed off the entire downtown, and it was still not enough, had cars spilling over into the neighborhoods surrounding the downtown. Amazing Show. Some highlights were the three gorgeous 55 Cadillacs, the 53 Caddy Fleetwood with factory air, working! An entire line of 55-60 Chevys. 73 Dodge police car. 71 Hemi Challenger convertible. 58 Desoto convertible. 60 Dodge Dart with Red Ram intake. 57 Bel-Air Fuelie, Grand Prix 2+2, and on and on! Saturday night I parked the Roadmaster at home and the boys and I got in the '81 Citation X-11 and took it down to the Top Notch Drive-In for dinner and hanging out. First time I'd taken the X-11 to the Top Notch on a Saturday night. Always good food, cars, and fun at the Top Notch! The owner of the Top Notch got some Dazed and Confused movie props and they are now on the wall inside the dining area. Cool!! I love the Top Notch on Saturday nights! THIRD CAR EVENT of this WEEKEND..HA - Woke up early Sunday morning and, T-tops off, took the brown '82 Camaro Z28 to Cars and Coffee Austin at The Oasis. This was the LARGEST Cars and Coffee yet. Great weather, all the paved lots full, the gravel lot full, and even a lot of cars in the parking garage. WOW! Comedian Steve Harvey was there in his red Porsche Carrera GT. Ha! The ONE time I drive the Camaro and not the Roadmaster and THIS is what I see at the entrance!!! CLEAN '96 for $4500!

Can't be two places at once Sadly!! There was a huge show for both cars and airplanes at the Georgetown Texas Airport on Saturday at the same time I was at the Bastrop show. This was closer to me but I missed the registration before they filled up. The show was restricted to 250 cars only, the rest were planes. AND this is one event that I HATE that I missed! The "Three Sisters" Road Rally. A bunch of folks from the local car group met up and headed into the Texas Hill Country this past Saturday to drive the Three Sisters, or the Twisted Sisters, depending on who you ask. I've ridden motorcycles on these a few times, but never driven them. Sharing these pics from the local forum, it looks like they had a BLAST. Great views, great weather, great roads! Man, I drive 185 miles Saturday to look at that wagon for Tony, and never thought to take the T-tops off my 86 Monte Carlo SS............what's the matter with me. Like you, Mike, we had great weather here last weekend. This weekend is Goodguys in Scottsdale. I'm picking up my son-in-law Mike at 6am Friday, and we're gone! Last November was over 3000 cars, and our weather forcast is for sunny, upper 70's.........maybe we'll set another attendance record! Couple of those cars show a suprise under the hood, Chevy engines! Love it!

It's sunny and only 72 degrees here. But cold and snow flurries back in Illinois. I don't wanna go home! Can we come to Texas and let you and Misty take care of us? I'll be good.
Dollie told me we have to move to Illinois. She loves the new street name. But I tried to tell her the 55 needs detailing and you do nice work. Then she reminded me of Misty's knife. I'm so confused.
