Not exactly a station wagon, but boy oh boy, this thing is cool! The more I look at it, the more I could see myself driving the kids around in it! It's just too bad it isn't a 4-door. http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/cto/4737727066.html
Back in '66 the only company that did a truck-based wagon with more than 2 doors was International, with the Travelall. Here's a '65. Who would have thought that in '65/'66 that International had a more modern vehicle than the comparable Chevy or Dodge? And Ford didn't have anything like it.....
All true. I had a '66 Townie panel back in 2008 that I went to Corpus Christi to get. It was a 225/3-speed manual. I was going to build it, but got offered a decent profit instead. It's in Kansas these days. Neat trucks.
I wouldn't put the early Jeep Wagoneer in exactly the same class as the Dodge Town Wagon or International Travelall. The former was developed more as a all-purpose 4WD station wagon (more car-like), while the latter two were strictly trucks with wagon bodies (although you could get 4WD on them).
If you are talking 4-doors true, but my 63 Suburban was a 3-door model 1 door for the driver and 2 on the passenger side. I believe Chevy made 2 and 3 door suburbans thru 72
You sure about that Jeff? AFAIK, the '3-door' Suburban came out in '67, and went through '72. All the Suburbans prior to that were strictly 2-doors.... '66 Suburban: '67 Suburban (No rear side door on the left): Left side:
