Greetings I am a total newbie to both these forums and OLD wagons! About a year ago, I aquired a 73 coronet custom w/ a transplant 440. I traded a Grand Cherokee that I paid $1000 for. Pretty good deal (I think) I have begun the expensive process of restoring/ upgrading this thing to Hopefully make at least a little $$$$ far off in the future.. Some things I have done so far: Mild cam upgrade, headders, fast fuel carb, petronix rotor/ electronic ignition, new "proper" big block K member, heavier duty tortion bars, new rear air shocks, exhaust, ford 9" rear 350 gears, front buckets w/ buddy seat, HID headlights, all new moog bushings ect. for the front end and LOTS of other minor things. Other: Mostly garage kept, no rust, decent re-paint, everything works! "floats" down the freeway. about $7K into this thing!!!! should I stop?? lol I'm needing some parts like: Rear Bumper rear anti- sway bar interior plastic cargo area trim pieces.. mine is decintegrating carpet replacement re-upholster seats rear tires mild body work All this gets me about 15.5's in the 1/4 mile.. (had to find out) Im not a racer. thanks! look foreward to picking your collective brains!!
Welcome to the world of wagon fans. Keep pouring money into your great looking wagon. That way you will have to keep it and that's how it should be. Or at least have another to replace it. No man should have to go thru life without a station wagon to call his own.
thanks! I do like the wagons, Friend has old 73 pinto wagon who got me into it. not sure of the direction I should take this car racer/ custom or OEM / stock
Just a little inspiration........ Welcome to the SWF! Don't know about that "Make a little $$$$....." comment. Frankly not too many of us have actually made a profit when we went to sell our wagons. It's more of thing where we make them how we like them, and when we go to sell them, we try to pass them on to someone who is equally fanatic about the Station Wagon experience. If you don't mind a bit of advice, I would suggest you fix up your wagon whatever way you (and your budget0 see fit. Don't worry about the market value. Marshall
thanks! Yea well just see where this road takes me The reason I got this wagon is the great "price" and the best looking wagon of the era I have seen (I love the challenger/ charger type of look) at first i thought it was a charger wagon!! that should tell you how much I knew about these cars lol never even heard of a "coronet" and now I have original owner documents and paperwork, sales / promo brosures ect.. heh
How exciting . Love the color of your car. Is the interior as nice as the exterior? aboard, glad you found us.
Those wheels are right-on for your clean wagon & color. Is first I seen that era Mopar wagon with after market wheels. Does a bunch for it
