Still searching for a nice wagon for my son. We have looked at about 9 cars and people are asking a lot of money for junk! Finally I think I have found a really nice roadmaster wagon. It is a 1993 with 94K very clean no rust like new interior fully loaded (as most roadies are). The guy wants $6995 for the car. The wife is having a cow over the fact that it is a 21 year old car for almost 7K. What do you guys think? would this be a good price for this car? Or should I keep looking? (I will deal with wife)

it is hard to say without seeing it but that does sound a little on the high side . check out gmlongroofs.com for a bunch of info on the roadie style wagons. my wife thought i was paying too much for my 05 magnum with 72,000 miles for $8500

I'd keep looking for that money. Or get it cheaper. I have a cherry 79 ford with 122,000 on it for 3500. its really nice one owner car(always in same family grandmother bought it brand new) and no one wants to pay it.

My daughter trashed the first car I gave her. She paid for her next car (in payments to me). I haven't given her another one since. She still trashes them, but it's her money now, not mine. By the way, we lived in McHenry Illinois when I gave her the first one.

Hey, Dan.......we lived in McHenry, along the Fox River, south of Rt 176. Left in 1986 to come to AZ. Bought a business, and 21 years ago bought 5 acres in the desert for 17,500. The 9 acres next to us just went on the market 3 weeks ago. My daughter (44) and son-in-law made an offer to buy it for 92K, and it was accepted. It presently has a 2400 sq ft manufactured home on it. The annual taxes are 1350. Jealous yet? Come on down, there's plenty of desert left. Also, I haven't needed a snowshovel for 28 years.........we don't have to shovel sunshine.

Hush up Bill! We've lived in Florida 20 1/2 years and I almost forgot what SNOW is. We just signed the papers yesterday on a home in central Illinois. Don't think snow tires will look good on my 55 Chevy wagon.
Camped a lot along parts of the Fox River for years.

The deals are still out there. Waited a year for what I believed was the right one. Paid $2600.00 on CL for this with just under 76,000 original miles. Put another $1700.00 or so into it and did a lot of cleaning. Nice LT 1 motor and is fun to drive. My daily with lots of room.

    T1..............
Are you nuts? Want to see what snow looks like? Go order a snow cone, no flavoring.........
Is this a new move/relocation? Or, a second home? When in the heck would the weather in central Illinois be better that Florida?
What sealed the deal for me in 1986 was driving my Mom's car to AZ from Quincy Illinois. We came the end of June for "vacation". Mom was living at Grandpa's house till she fould her own home. When we got here, she had gotten my brother (from Seattle) to come down, and we painted Grandpa's house. 100 degrees, painted all day, never broke a sweat. All Grandpa's friend kept saying "Why did you wait till the worst time of the year to come here", and I said, "this is as bad s it gets?" We got home to Illinois about the 4th of July, and had been away for 10 days. We had an acre of land, the grass was about 8 inches tall, and the temps were in the high 90's, and so was the humidity. I couldn't do it all at one time, I had to get off the mower and walk in the house and stand in front of the A/C vents. When I finished mowing, I called a realtor I knew, and listed the house.
What I hated about Illinois was the fact that 6 months a year my feet were cold, every day I ever had off I was mowing, shoveling, or it was raining.
    You've forgotten that?
You must be going back to be close to family, I bet.
UI'm so glad my daughter is here in AZ, and ain't leavin'.
Sorry for the Hijack, Dan, but you may be a little enlightened, too.
    Bill
