I work at an office for a construction company and my foremen know about my fascination with wagons, and many of them are classic car and truck enthusiasts themselves. Some have given me suggestions on what to do to soup up my Vista and they like hearing about what I've done to it. Last Mardi Gras season, I was cruising one of the parade routes and I was stopped at a railroad when suddenly, I hear someone come up to my passenger window and yell, "Woooowie! Powerbrake dat somb**c!!!" At first, I was alarmed, but realized it was one of my foremen who had recognized the car (not difficult to do in my town). So that kind of became an inside joke with a few of us, and one day, I was inspired to immortalize the moment on the dry erase board in our office. A buddy of mine who works here saw it and decided to add his own touch to it by printing out a caricature of me that a few other friends drew years ago and cut it out and taped it to the board. I thought I'd share it with you guys.
Great art work. Reminds me of a time I was driving my 1968 Barracuda 340 Formula S fastback. I stopped at a light while driving through Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. I heard someone shout out, "Owncha burn some rub op dem tars!". I looked over towards the gas station on the corner where the voice came from, and it was an elderly gentleman in a business suit pumping gas into his new Land Rover. Took me a minute to figure out the English translation for what he said. In my case, I didn't know the guy. I was just passing through.
For kicks I put that phrase into Google translate to see if it could figure out what the old man was saying. Of course, it doesn't understand West Virginian but it'll read the phrase back to you. Ha! Ha! http://translate.google.com/m/translate#auto/en/Owncha%20burn%20some%20rub%20op%20dem%20tars!
I like that translator, but it didn't work as well on Cat's phrase. I had to adjust the spelling for the audio to work right on Oldswagonmaster's phrase "Woooowie! Powerbrake dat som be itch"
Lol. I really drew and posted it as a goof cuz I know I can't draw very well, but I'm pleased yall liked it!
