So I cleaned up his Malibu for him and talked him into going to a cruise night about 20 miles down the Interstate. My dad usually has jokes at my expense. One example is when he rides in my Tundra pick up, it is a base model with roll down windows, he will always ask, "Where is the button to put your window down?" He also says "Push your button on your remote to lock your doors!" Knowing I don't have power locks or remote on my truck. So tonight was a chance to get a little payback. A 502 motor, turbo 350 with a 3200 convertor and a 3.73 gear doesn't make for the ideal interstate cruiser so when he asked "You need gas in your wagon to go?" I replied "I can make it there and back on 2 gallons. How about you, you got at least a half of tank to make it?":rofl2: The look he gave me said it all! Then he decided to tell me how much faster it is in 1/4 mile, I told him yes but the cruise was 20 miles.:rofl2: Again he was not amused. Then my final jab was after we got out there, it is very humid and temp in the 80's, so I asked if his A/C was blowing cold?:rofl2: The previous owner removed it to make installing a BB easier and ditched it and we never bothered getting one.
I took him and got him a burger and fries for putting up with the ribbing :D It was nice to get a little payback!:)

Be careful, he's your dad. In the words of Bill Cosby, he "brought you into this world and he can take you out too". Sounds like you guys had a good time. Hope there was a decent turnout of cars.

It was nice, Jim. A lot nicer than spending it in the ER like last Saturday. It is a small cruise but probably 40 cars or so. He (my dad) was my main reason for buying this late model wagon, I wanted something big and comfortable, good MPG to take him and his brother and their best friend since they were 15 years old on a nice cruise together. Not sure where, maybe the Hot Rod Power Tour or cruise Rt.66. We discussed it recently at Easter when they were all together and they seemed to like the idea. They will all be between 70 and 74 next year.

Good going Dennis. At least your dad can still go to a cruise in and walk. This winter I think rust settled in. Even with fake hips I can't get around enough to go to a cruise in anymore. Glad I have the pictures and this computer to cruise on.That's why I enjoy the car show photos you guys all post.
