AKA http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/member.php?u=1488 Was just a great day, great laughs, great conversation, what a awesome down to earth couple! Both of them, doing what they do best traveling the world were on a cruise ship that stopped into Victoria for Sunday then they got off in Vancouver, spent a day there to then come back to Victoria for a day. Today they will leaving for Seattle on the Clipper from our inner harbor, there hotel (Admiral Inn) is rite behind the ship a whole 3 minute walk from the hotel. Deb took the day off also so we threw them in the Buick for the drive around the lower island tour starting of course at Mile Zero witch is about 1 mile from there hotel. (I forgot to fix the date on the pics) Weather was perfect, not to hot and not to cool. From M-Zero we spent the day driving around showing them what you won't find on any tour map/guide....... like where to stop and meet Victoria's original pan handlers who beg for fish and not money. We fed them, got pretty "splashy" and funny, a total of 5 showed up for some fish . All and all, a great day! Did the lower island tour around the waterfront and ending up at Butchart Gardens. From there we took a 20 car 30 minute ferry to get semi up island and toured from there back into Victoria. Was a long day for the dogs being cooped up inside so we stopped to let them out and again what a great couple as they brought a couple bags of snacks for the boys. We took off to see the sites again and timing worked out well as we got to a pub for a late dinner just as it was getting dark and only minutes away from there hotel.
Ted and Deb were AWESOME hosts! We had a wonderful day! I'll add some pics after we get home on the weekend. Thanks, Ted + Deb! Joe & Julie
I forgot to mention, Joe & Julie got the "Rock Star VIP" suite in there hotel and all just by fluke, not asked or reserved for. Top floor corner suite rite under the Admiral Inn sign. Million dollar view of the inner harbor!
Yep, what KK said. He and his wife were kind enough to come out to a vintage trailer gathering we were at a couple of years ago in OR and it was great meeting them. Real nice folks, just like you expect.
Next time you cruise around in the Gulf head up the Suwannee River about 30 miles. I'll buy lunch. But not this week. It's flooded and closed to boat traffic. I think one of those little fishies lives near us. He looks familiar!
After Joe experienced the neck breaking hill climbing power of my 307 in witch we couldn't catch and pass a loaded gas tanker with pup trailer In a mile and a half of passing lane I doubt he'd be interested............. was long down hill drive staring at the back of that slow moving rig On a side note that I forgot about........ Just when you think you have seen it all, while at the Butchart Gardens we passed the outside coffee/pop stand. Joe says, "Look at that guy and his kids!" Mom and dad both have a coffee and they are feeding there 2 kids, one in a stroller and the other a toddler ............... ..........One after the other I've seen some cheap parents but sheeeeeze!
Tedy, Tedy, Tedy... one of your famous bbqs and a tour about is on my ToDo list...someday. Sounds like it was a visit all around.
