well for the past 2 1/2 months i have been on a quest to install a new engine into my wagon. I know it seems like a long time but it was the snowball effect 1- change motor led to remove inner fenders and patch all the extra holes led to paint firewall and chassis led to replace a/c unit in dash and fix all ducts led to clean up all exposed wiring and conceal it led to new rerouted brakelines led to change from carb to fuel injection led to drop tank install in-tank pump and new supply and return fuel lines led to chrome ram jet chevy intake manifold led to F.A.S.T EZ EFI led to summit small cap HEI distributor led to MSD Streetfire CD ignition led to Retrosound 2 radio in dash led to Kenwood amp in rear led to rewire front headlights and running lights to conceal wiring in eng comp led to fix rack and pinion steering leaks and loose bolts with new pump ,hoses, and drill and safety wire the mounting bolts for the r & p unit led to remount speakers in front kick panels led to finally get my accuair e-level air ride working led to remounting all the sensors and replace the front air solenoids led to removing the dakota dash and breaking the black box while removing it, while i was waiting for that back from dakota digital i relocated the black box for the gauges and neatened up all the wiring under the dash led to remount and remake all the a/c hoses for the indash and underdash units and a bunch of other little issues but i finally got to drive it today and i think i will be very happy with the new engine. i went with a Blueprint Engines 383 aluminum heads, roller cam stroker motor with 430 hp and 480 ft lbs of torque
That is usually what happens! 3 years and I am still trying but in my defense, job and I did get my dad's engine installed but yes I know what you mean! Your engine and compartment looks great now so congrats, it was well worth taking the extra time!
i plan on getting at least 500 miles before i leave for the power tour in june. maybe this weekend i will go see the indians in Immokkolee for breakfast. i always enjoy that ride thru the backroads
I really like the look of your wagon...who knew it was the paint holding it all together. Glad you got it fixed, paint can only last so long.
i kinnda know about the snowball effect.... everything i get into usually winds up down to the frame.... i have started alot of quick repairs that turned into months and months.. ha ha ha
Yea but what's 59Wagon man's excuse? We don't have any snow to ball here. Seems like we change one little spark plug and end up with the engine in pieces on the ground.
