Several years ago, one of the car magazines took a new (1994?) Buick Roadmaster wagon and made it into what they thought it should have been. They dropped a big block in it of course, but they also pulled off the Chevy style front end clip and replaced it with the front clip from a new Roadmaster sedan! The wagon didn't have the woodgrain either. It was dark blue or black.
I wish I had saved a picture of it.

The Roadmaster sedan used a unique front end unlike the wagon that used the Chevy wagon front end but with a buick styled grille.

    Anybody else remember this wagon?

never saw that one BUT, over on the impalaSS forums there are a few guys that did the front end conversion. ive seen it and i love it! i was told its a pretty straight forward bolt up procedure that you just bolt and unbolt the fenders, hood, headlights, rad support, and bumper. however, the money it costs to buy the front clip and paint it to match is more than i can handle now lest you would be seeing my like that!

i never could figure out why they didnt put the sedan clip on the wagon from the factory, it looks more elegant.

I, on the otherhand, dont care for the looks of the Sedans. The front and rear are both ugly. A Roadie isnt a Roadie without Woodgrain down the side. :thumbs2:

see now blackfoot, l like the WB4 roadies, but.. lack of woodgrain doesnt fit my surfer mantra. id like to see sedan nose and wood.

i found a product at lowes that may allow me to use real wood when it comes time to replace the vinyl!

let me rephrase, i like the WB4 as far as custom aps go.

what i really hate is when someone puts a chevy grill on a buick! even if its and impala grill, c-mon....would you put a chevy grill on a caddy? no, so why put one on a buick?

    Me too.

I was also thinking that it would be interesting to buy the front clip from a last generation Olds Custom Cruiser and dropping it onto a Caprice sedan! Creating a full sized Olds sedan that never was.
