About Me: I have been a fan of station wagons for some time. When my first son was born, I was driving a little 2 door hatchback and my wife informed me that "I had to get a family car". At that time, I started looking for a nice station wagon to drive every day. I really wanted something older (mid 50's to early 60's), but couldn't find anything that made sense to buy at that time. Somehow I got distracted from my goal, and ended up with a 2007 Dodge Magnum SRT8. A 425 HP station wagon is a family car, right? The Magnum was an amazing car, but not what I really wanted. I drove it for 2 years and sold it for more than I purchased it. I used the equity I had in the Magnum to purchase a 1958 Ford Ranch Wagon that I now drive almost daily. My wipers suck (or don't suck, HA!) so I take the wife's car in bad weather. It has been 3 years since I started driving it, and it is still hard to not look like Smilin Bob from the old Enzyte commercials every time I get in the driver's seat. I am also a member over on the H.A.M.B. and have been keeping things up to date on that forum. About my Car: 1958 Ford Ranch Wagon Engine - 223 Straight 6 Transmission - 3 on the tree, no overdrive Car is fairly stock, only modifications are because of parts that were available at the time.
Welcome to the forum. Very nice introduction and a great station wagon. Looks like it is brand new. Try to post again before another three years is over.
Thanks, I registered on the site a few months after I got my Magnum, but never got around to posting. Somewhere along the lines my account had a glitch and wouldn't let me post. I lurked as a guest for a long time before I finally got around to emailing the mods to ask what was up with my account. AK27 & Dewey Satellite -- Thank you
Welcome aboard! I just went through your H.A.M.B. thread on thois car; great thread! I love the colors on your wagon and it's nice to read about someone who's enjoying the wagon with their family.
Thank you for taking the time to go through it, it has been a wild ride the last few years but definitely worth it.
Welcome. I must say that your wagon is pretty much my dream car. I love the cars from the late 50's, and the fact that it is a wagon is even better!
