I live in Niagara Falls Ontario. Besides the Falls there are some great places to tour in a wagon.

If anyone is interested I'll set up a full day tour of the area including Niagara of the Lake, some of the hundred vineyards in the area, the Welland Canal lift locks between Lake Ontario and Lake Erie.

Just imagine 50 to 100 Station Wagons touring together.

All you need is a wagon, sense of adventure, humour a full tank and mad money.

If there is enough interest I'll plan a tour.

    Cheers
    Bob

Glad you mentioned that "summer" word. I refuse to believe that it only snows on the Buffalo side of the lake:whew:

Bob, that is a great idea. Glad you are willing to do something like this. Right now I have no idea what we will be doing next summer. January is free!:rofl2:

Although it is nice in the Falls in January, if you like snow & ice, it's not my idea of a good time. Mid summer works better, the snow & ice is gone by then...LOL.

Agreed, great idea Bob! My home town is about 80 miles from you. The Falls are fun to visit on a hot summer day too.

Although I somewhat agree with Cat, it's THIS time of year that I especially miss the cold and the snow. Xmas here in So Cal just isn't the same. :disagree:

Where was your home town? If you want to trade, I'll take a little So Cal weather and GREAT old cars.

Lol, it is nice out here I have to admit. Not much out here in the way of wagon eye-candy, though.

I haven't been to The Falls since I was a kid. (1960's) I live in The Hudson Valley Region of New York. I would LOVE to go. My wife has been wanting to go to Niagara Falls for years. If you're really going to do this, count me in. I would recommend monthly updates as we get closer to spring.

Caride : You have a great idea for this summer. It would be interesting to see how many " wagon enthusiasts" live in Western New York / Niagara area and through out the east coast that would be willing to participate!

My goal is to take Fannie across Canada when she is ready. My thought is to drive to a few members community along the way and have a mini wagon meets. It would also be cool to have a wagon train heading west but that is an entirely different story and Fannie is no where near ready, so back to your idea, this sound wonderful. I hope there are a few members able to take you up on your offer.

Something tells me this whole idea is dead in the water. Unfortunately, it probably won't be in the water of Niagara Falls. The OP hasn't posted anything since he started this thread back on December 7th. Almost 4 months ago. We shall see I guess. I am still up for it should it actually take place.

    Niagara Falls Tour

It's been a very long & cold winter. The Buick's been tucked away and I've been building RC model boats (my other bucket list passion) all winter.

So far the response to my suggestion has been a little disappointing.

If I can get at least 20 people with 20 wagons then I'll plan it for June 19-20 (saturday & sunday).

Saturday would start out with a drivers meeting @ 8:30am to discuss the route, safety, basic driving laws in Ontario. We would start out at the Falls tour around some of the vineyards and making a couple of stops at some local winery's. There would a stop for lunch some place cheap & cheerful (not Mc D's etc). We will tour along part of the Welland Canal locks that connect Lake Erie & Lake Ontario traveling to Port Dalhousie stopping for a break and a ride on the Lakeside Park Carousel, an antique outdoor Carousel on the beach. There will be time to walk the beach, or just relax. From there we would head to Niagara on the Lake, a beautiful old settlement at the mouth of the Niagara River. Lots of time to get out and stretch, get and ice cream cone & checkout some of the local shops. On the way out I'll point out the jet boat tour that goes up the rapids of the Niagara River for those brave enough to come back on Sunday. We will follow the Niagara Parkway back along the river with another possible stop at a larger winery & tour. After that continue back to the Falls for dinner. The evening and Sunday would be open to explore on your own.

There is lots to do, the Falls are amazing both day & night. Weather permitting there is a large fireworks display over the Falls at night. Cliffton Hill has tons of stuff for the family. The Falls View Casino for those who like to gamble or see a live show.

At any rate, those are my thoughts. Enough cruising time, enough stops, time to shop, enjoy or just relax. If I know soon enough I can try to book rooms @ one place.

I do need to know by April 25th.

    Cheers
    Bob
