Well, i guess i can delete my pics, the wagon i was sure i was going to buy i finally got to see it today(after the owner cancelled 5 times!!) It wasn't what it looked liked in the pics( apparantly they were a few years old). Rust on rear wheel wells, some bubbling around rear 1/4 windows, all woodgrain blistering, exhaust manifolds cracked. Not what i expected at all, not worth $2800 to me. So dissapointed right now, especially when there's only one other box wagon for sale in Alberta but he wants $5000 : Maybe i need to look into shipping one from our southern neighbors:confused:
Sorry to hear abt the deal. Sometimes the fun can be in the search though. Be patient, you'll find what you want. Texas and Georgia cars are usually rust free if you go south.
Well that is a bummer on many counts, mainly for misrepresentation due to old pics (we have seen that a lot in ads) Don't give up the hunt but be patient Some of our members including myself waited and hunted for a long time before we bout. To bad you were not closer, I have these barned now for the winter but the blue one, although not perfect it is honest.... The pics are a year old now but not YEARS old and the car looks the same. Location, location, location, and mine sucks for selling! The ferry cost for shipping to the mainland from the island is just about as much to ship from Vancouver to you. But come spring in a couple months if you happen to make a trip out here, The Blue one is all ways for sale and drive it home.... I now am keeping the silver one for the engine and old blue will be priced accordingly ........ http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23781
Thanks for the offer Fat, the blue one does look clean and honest, i'm more into the full size boxes but how much would you be asking for that one?
I guess i have to be patient but i'm already looking for quite a while and i wanna cruze this summer Patience is running thin.........
Man, that sucks. Sorry to hear it. It took about 6 months for me to find my 1st wagon, locally. Then I stumbled on another one that I had to have, and had it shipped across country from Cali to Georgia. If you can find a good enough deal, it might be worth the expense to have one shipped.
It's funny how these kind of things car work out. Just tonight I heard about a guy wanting to get rid of a 64 Plymouth wagon. Myself and a co-worker waited until 7 o'clock (he was supposed to be there at 5) for him to show. He never did. Sometimes it just works out that way. You'll find one that is just right for you. Don't give up.
hey ND...what exactly are ya hunting for? I could keep an eye out on this side of the mountains for ya
