Thanks Rev , nice to hear all is good with 57 and some of us go walkabout from time to time its been awhile
Well that's great, mystery solved! I've left forums rapidly because two of the members pasted me good, (for no good reason either), and in one case, an overzealous moderator slapped me down for defending myself. The other guy had called me an idiot, and HE did not get corrected. That's beside the point in the long run, bottom line, is we need to respect everyone's opinions, and find a way to correct someone, or disagree in a civilized manner. Although this isn't the case in 57safari's instance, it does bear considering. I hope he can get back with this forum when his situation allows it!
Well this is great news. As mentioned some of us have our widdle hearts broken easily and we just disappear. I know of this happening to another member recently. Barry get your butt back here so we can tell you how much we love you! Then go sit in the corner!
Here's A Safari Floor Pan Teaser! I've been hunting for stuff on tri-carb setups for my setup on my Fairmont six-banger. Lo and behold if I don't find a restoration article on a '55 Pontiac Safari on a carburetor site! http://www.stromberg-bulletin.com/project-pontiac-gets-new-floorpans/
Just got a PM from Barry. He's BAAAAAAAAAACK! Apparently busy doing stuff to the trailer, unpacking, etc. Indicates he'll be on here soon.
Thanks REV for passing on the info. And thanks for everyone for their emails and posts and kind thoughts. It is nice to know people actually miss you when you are pulled away by "life" activities that get in the way of your regular routine. We were in AZ for a bit over 3 months. It was horrible. We had two days of slight moisture, the rest of the time it was sunny, warm, dry. Learned how to play shuffle board. Most days were busy - coffee first thing in the morning sitting around with the various and sundry neighbors. Then a big crowd pull a 5 mile bike ride, then back for another round of coffee. Then breakfast and head to the pool for water volleyball. Then soak around in the pool afterward with noodles for floating, and curing all the issues of the world with the other floaters. A BBQ dinner most evenings, then a couple of hours of shuffle board, then out in lawn chairs sipping hot drinks and looking for satellites and falling stars and prepping for the next day. On the way down got a brutal virus on the laptop, could not recover it, so finally after much agonizing bought a new computer. Learning Windows 8 sort of. So far, not sure about it but will figure it out eventually. Will unpack this week, then get going on the wagon engine/trans install in a couple of weeks -need to heal from the drive first - it really wore us out. In the meantime a ton of yard work to get done as well - moles had their way with the back yard in our absence and it looks like there was a war back there with large tree limbs down as well. Take care folks - more later. By the way, with 6,000 miles on this trip we saw at most a dozen wagons of all vintages, not counting car shows we attended.
