My buddy who keeps my cars clean and detailed came over this week and did a little Spring cleaning to start getting some of my cars ready for the better weather that is ahead. he even took some pictures while he was cleaning up that he sent to me , so I thought I would share them. I know that there is only one wagon in the pictures. Next time I will tell him to include more wagon!! LOL
Sooooo Marty,, How about a brief description of each of 'em.... You know,, motor,, trans,, rear axle,, options,, mods...... Just the usual...
Ok! The Yellow Vert is a '93 Mustang "Feature Car" - we did a full nut and bolt on it. It is now powered with a Mod Motor out of a Mach 1 and makes about 300 rwhp through a 5 speed. The car is an absolute hoot to drive. The '65 Falcon Wagon has a 5.0 and AOD out of a '91 Mudstain. We built that car last winter to take on the Hot Rod Power Tour and I have put about 5,000 miles on it since it was built. I love that car. The perfect cruiser. The Black '69 Nova has a 454 backed with an M-22 Rock Crusher and of all the cars I own (much to my wife's dismay, there are more than what are pictured here) that car sounds teh absolute best, whether idling or moving out. It was a bench seat car but is now a bucket seat car. The '66 Belvedere is a tribute to my dad - we had one when I was in high scholl a couple of hundred years ago and this car is what we wanted that car to be. It is a 440 CID car with a 727 trans, bucket seats and great curb appeal. I love the looks of the car and just wish my Dad were here to see it today! The '68 Road Runner I bought last winter as part of a package of cars (this was the only one I kept because when i sold off the rest of the cars this one was pretty much free). It is a factiory AC car with a 383 and stiock cam (the AC cars don't like a lot of cam. It has four wheel disc brakes and AC re-done with a Classic Auto Air kit (we highly reocmmend there stuff at my commercial shop). My wife rode it for the first time last week and she actually liked it. The Gold Vette is an early '69 - some say they have more value. The interior has been redone and the car runs great but the car really needs a repaint. I will get it done if my wife lets me live long enough. It is a 350/350 car with a 4 speed car. Very fun to drive with the tops out! The car on the far right is an '03 Cobra with Kenne Belle 2.8 Mammoth blower and inlet. It makes 710 rwhp on pump gas and got the under hood powder coat treatment. My wife hates that car because as she says when I nail it she can't breath. I though that that was the whole idea!!!! When I have time I will post ip some pics of some of my other cars. Thanks for letting me share. Cars are my life!
Marty, do you use a lottery system to pick the car of the day? I'd be late for work, if I had to choose the daily driver!
Funny you say that. One day I was late for court and when I walked in I announced that I was sorry but that I had car trouble. My wife's boss (who was sitting in the court room) texted my wife and told her. Her reply to him was "Oh he probably could not decide what to drive!!" She knows me well....
As much of a mopar nut as I am I haffa say,,, the Nova is the one that gets me going the most that you have posted... Always liked big block Nova and in black AND with buckets.. uuumm,, yummy....
Awesome assortment! One of these days, I need to drive down there to meet you and your cars. You're probably only an hour away from me.
A friend took these pics one day when a few of us all drove our Novas to our commercial shop on a Saturday:
Eye Candy! There is a Nova like yours sitting 1/2 mile from us in a farmers back lot that was a mint big block car when parked. After 15 years with weeds growing around it it is almost solid rust on the surface. "Gonna let my son have it when he grows up." I think the son has already grown and moved away. Oddly it sits behind a large metal building that may be empty.
Son is over. He said that Nova is a big block SS 4-speed car. He doesn't remember if 396 or 454. I guess he went to school with the kid and the Nova was supposed to be his graduation gift. The kid decided he wanted a 4-wheel drive truck like most rednecks down here. So the Nova just sits rusting away. It was the light gold color. At least the rust doesn't show as bad from the road we travel with gold paint but it's looking nasty now. I can only imagine what this Florida sand has done under it. The family won't even talk about the car. Many have tried to buy it. The recycling yard is a few miles away. Won't be long before the Nova ends up there. I was wrong about how long it's been there. Our son and that boy got out of high school seven years ago. I think it sat there a few years earlier.
