A really close friend of mine used to say that if you can't be your own best and honest friend, whose can you be? The first and only time he said that, I was stuck for words. Still am. :)

Don't worry too much. I'm not good enough to get into heaven, and hell is afraid I'll take over, so I'm kinda stuck here for awhile:) Isn't Vigil great? I cannot wait to get him oin the road this summer, if possible. I recently was given a Dodge 440 engine for free. It runs, but is a bit tired. I'll freshen it up first, I quite imagine it will put a bit of pep back into Virgil's step. Also I recently acquired a 5-speed manual transmission for my Eagle wagon. It came out of a, '82 Eagle SX/4. I'll start accumulating parts to get that swap done sometime in the next century or so. Have the Best Day!

    Sweeeeet!
Looks really nice! I see the original plastic valve cover is still there. Wonder if it leaks (yet)? Any idea the year?

I always liked those Eagles. They're nice rigs and get around good in the Wisconsin winters. Of course...I would BUY this one for CaptCarl if he would give me Virgil and that 440!!!:2_thumbs_up_-_anima

Shopper,Commuter,Villiager,Townsman. They really did have a car for everyone, back then, didn't they?.Car companies today brag about having eight or nine models---two or three trim packages---maybe even two available powerplants(three in models you can get in hybrid or diesel)...It's just not the same anymore. And I didn't buy my first car till 1980.

Though to be fair, back when my DeSoto was new, they technically had 6 models of wagons to choose from, but, they were all the exact same body, just with different levels of trim and engine choices. Car companies now offer a good variety of different bodies and styles. They still do make a car for everyone. Just not for me....

That's true---Commuter,Villiager and Colony Park were all different levels of the same Mercury wagon, but then, they also had the Comet size wagons...Where I used to work, several of my co-workers had Camry wagons, all of roughly the same age.About six years ago, they all started getting new Camrys. But none of them got wagons, because Camry wasn't doing that anymore...I remember a Mercury dealer telling me,if I wanted a brand new stationwagon,I had to get a Villiager(a minivan at the time)or a Mariner. Now that Mariners can be got in hybrid form, they're not sounding too bad.

Besides the magnum or trucks, there's really nothing that appeals to me in the new car lineup anymore :( Give me something from the big metal and chrome car days!
