I have to agree with Krash on this one. This style always looked like the transition from Muscle car to cruising car, and it didn't know exactly what it was.

It ends up looking neither fast, nor comfortable.

The Monte Carlo and Grand Prix were the nicest of the Colonade 2 doors. They were on the longer, sedan frame, where the Buick and Cutlass Supreme were on a frame 3 or 4 inches shorter. Looks to be in great shape, and a good price. Probably a great buy for anyone who loves these cars.

I'm glad MikeT came to the defense of this gen MC. The 73's were clearly the best looking of the series, with the 74's and beyond suffering somewhat from the "big bumper" mandate of the times. Otherwise, I think Chevy did a great job reinventing the styling of the MC for 73 myself. All the proportions and styling cues front to back worked well together in my opinion. This one's a beauty especially with the aftermarket wheels.

I am not a Chevy guy but I really don't see anything wrong with this styling wise. Has the long hood short trunk look and the fenders flow well. Not quite in the 69 Cutlass class but miles ahead of anything from the current century.

I like the Monte Carlos throughout the '70s, until they downsized them in the '79 model year - THEN they became butt-ugly. The silver car pictured above??? I'd drive that it a friggin' heartbeat, and especially WITH the Torq-Thrusts and white letters! Serve it up, I'd take it.

I like it too! Reminds me a bit of our '77 Buick Regal that we had back in '82. Bought it in Calgary when we lived there, hubby drove it home when we moved back the following year. I learned to drive in that car, drive like a dream.

This isn't it but it looked the same.

The motor went in and hubby sold it to his brother who turned it into a stock and raced it.

Anyway, are you planning to purchase this little gem?
