I had two trucks that had the 300 Ford six in them, both in E250 vans. I was pulling a 24 enclosed car trailer with my 3/4 ton Suburban when it developed an electrical problem. My wife brought the van to me and I sent the 'burb and her back in a rollback and continued the trip to Michigan wondering if the 300 would do the job once we loaded a '30 Buick in the trailer. I was very surprised and impressed at the job that 300 did pulling all that load home and I ran about 70 on the Interstate with it. The van did have an electric trailer brake controller installed in it. I now have a Ford Excursion with the 7.3 Powerstroke in it. It's never been stuck, but I'm also careful with it as my youthful days growing up farming taught me that 4wd handled improperly just gets you stuck even worse. As for the braggarts that have to put down someone else's vehicle, my theory is that God puts some people on earth to anchor one end of the bell curve. Congratulations on being both a good person and for humbling the jerk!
Exactly. That's why I drive in 2wd even though my truck is 4wd. That way if I get stuck, I can get myself out with the flick of a lever.
Yeah I have been at fordsix for a long time. I think I have been there since the late 90s. Well, it is nice to see you here too! I like your wagon BTW!
Kudos to you for being the bigger man and helping a fellow motorist who was in trouble even if he was to narrow minded to realize it. and SOOOO glad you got his truck out!
