I'm currently driving without a radio, and I have a Sterilite tub FULL of old 2-shaft Delcos. Everything from AM to AM-FM 8-track to AM-FM-CB. Now I just have to find a junkyard with a 77-85 LeSabre/Electra that hasn't had the dash cut up for a DIN-style unit. I enjoy the sound of the wind, the tires, the engine, and the whining 14-year-old trying to hide down below the beltline because she doesn't want to ride in a woodgrained station wagon! Imagine how she'll feel when the Suburban sells and she doesn't have a choice...

How much does an AM/FM CB, or an 8-Track run? I know they weren't stock in mine, but I think it would give a cool retro feel.

That's such a personal call. Whatever makes you proud and happy with it. Obviously it needs replacement, judging by that front passenger fender. I wouldn't even venture a guess.

If it helps though, the lighter grains make the top more the visual focal point. The darker colours make the vehicle profile standout better.

Definately agree that the black with a lighter grain would look absolutely fantastic on this ride! My friends always want me to do it with mine. Quick question, are you going emblem-free? If you have the rear Caprice Estate emblem off the back and are willing to part with it, I'm interested since mine says "Rice Estate" right now.

Greenville SC here, neighbor, Glad you bought that wagon, i looked at it on Craigslist as well, but didnt need another caprice. I bought mine from a friend who couldnt keep it, and other than lots of cleaning up its good to go, even the AC works so far. Hopefully ill get new correct springs and shocks in a week or two.
