Today I snoozed and lost out on a cool and different wagon. I was at out local Mopar show and saw this 66 Ambassador wagon. I told the owner I'd think about it for a little bit. I didn't see anyone else looking at it so I wasn't worried. He was asking $3200 OBO. I decided I'd offer him $2800 and if he came back with $3000 I'd say deal. But By the time I saw him someone else had bought it. Too bad because it was a good running rust free wagon that even had bucket seats and console and floor shift. That's got to be rare in a wagon. Turns out he sold it for $2800. Rats!!!

That's too bad, looks like a great little wagon, I'm guessing that you wont let that happen again.

Bummer, very cool with console and buckets (wonder why the center of the steering wheel was off though?)

I think we all have been there, done that at one time or another...... 'I'll come back later to then.....:( because it sold" I know I have:slap:

That station wagon is a piece of crap. Just look how things are falling off inside it. I wouldn't give $350 scrap for it.
You were lucky azblackhemi. Besides it doesn't have a hemi.

Thanks guys for both the sympathy and the razzing! The good thing is since I'm always on the lookout I know another cool one will pop up real soon. If I want it I won't play games, I'll make an offer on the spot. Live and learn. It really was a nice wagon though. Probably nicer in person than in my pictures.

That's got to be pretty rare. As a rule, you couldn't get buckets and a console on anything from Ford or GM during the mid 60's (Falcon Squire and big Country Squire in '63 being one exception I've heard about).

    As Tedy mentioned

I had something similar happen when I was younger with a 1960 GMC Suburban. It was a tough deal for me, and now is a reminder any time I hesitate. "I don't want another situation like the Suburban deal"

Strike while the iron is hot. Live and learn I suppose. There will be others.

Keep in mind, the next one may be a piece of crap. Don't blame me. I told you the other was junky so be careful.

Danged, I loved that wagon you screwed up and missed.:rofl2:

Not many I've missed in that manner. Far more common for me is "Why the hell did I buy that piece of cr*&...?"

From the words of Maxwell Smart... "Missed by that much"!

What was working against you (including your own indecision) was the very fact that when the next guy come along showing similar interest, the seller would have told him that there was someone else very keen floating around the place as well. I am sure if you were number two in the buying chain, and armed with the same info, you may have been a little bit more motivated to get the job done perhaps!

So from the immortal words of Doris Day... "Que Sera Sera"!

Like your sense of humour as well!
    Cheers Mike.
