I'll join. What do I have to do? I'm pretty busy, so I don't have much time to spare. But, I do have an appreciation for the longroofs. Up north of Seattle. Trying to make time to actually enjoy, rather than work my way through life! I have a couple Malibus

    The latest aquisition

You need to talk to Jerry Kwiatkowski. He's the man who is keeping the list.
So far the best way is through Facebook.
I have tried to get the members on facebook to join here... till then, contact Jerry via F.B.

    Hey Jairus

My Rat Of a Fairlane is no way show quality but it will be back on the road soon. about the first of next month I will order Bumper/window stickers and 2 T shirts.

Do you think we could ask the powers that be here at SWF (Our Home) for a section for SWF Based (area specific) Clubs..... No need to create a new message board - FB that is. here you can have a researchable build thread... Face book sucks for build threads.

    Just My 2 cents... :banghead3:

    Edward,

I have pleaded to the other members of our fledgling club to join here this established forum. Because, I agree with you on all accounts since Facebook is so temporary.
As for changing this forum... your request has already been read by moderators I assume. And it's a good idea I support. But up to others...

I started thinking about the idea of having a separate section (or sub-section) for the NW Longroofs, and I'm not sure it's a good idea for the SWF as a whole.

We've got something very rare in the internet community -a group of people who pretty much all get along with each other amazingly well. Bringing in another outside group where only a small percentage of the whole group belongs could cause issues. You're drawing attention away from the main group. Some NW guys might be inclined to post only in that section for the most part.

I'm not saying it's a bad idea, but it might have adverse effects. I don't want to see anything bad happen to our SWF.

We could create a club section for club specific messages like meets, etc.

That was exactly what I was referring to Just for club specific items like Hey we all meet here, or here is the contact info for T-Shirts.

All other chatter is considered Wagon specific and there are many great threads for that type of discussion.

Make one person Moderator of that section to move/report/smack a hand and that's the only type of comments allowed?

    Sound like an Idea?

Well it should NEVER be a one person moderator, human nature would and could lead to conflict of interest.

OK, You are contemplating making a sub forum for people who know about the site but won't join as has been mentioned because they Face Book instead, yet it does not sound like the face book thing is doing that well. IMO you would be opening the door for any and every car/wagon club and what ever sales they want to promote. And what could we end up with, possibly the forum turning into a Craigslist for promotion and sales, while the people we wanted to join still Face book in there select community......

Wow Tedy! Really? you think that the folks that visit here on a somewhat regular basis already would make different post's than what we already do?

The people we are talking about came from this Forum that's why we want to keep it here!

Jairus is only talking about a few people that he met at a car show. Talking them into joining this family. Our intentions are honorable we don't want to Muddy up the SWF. We just want to enhance an already Great thing.

Don't be Mad because we asked for a thread to discuss meetings and T-Shirts, bumper stickers.. :D

American Station Wagon Owners Association , this link still works.

International Station Wagon Club .... Where is the wagons?????.. But you can buy this or that, but what happened to the wagons!?

Long Roofs So. Cal. Dead link.

National Woodie Club ??? My computer froze up when I opened the link..?????? I'm just saying....... I shut down and restarted, I won't open that link again.

Kinda the same goes for the above.

We have a IMO good forum, we have our differences now and then but in general we like wagons and for the most part all cars in general. I don't have a beef with a club posting, or selling a T-Shirt, bumper sticker etc. Heck I honestly would by the bumper sticker that never happened and please take no offence but I would have bout the shirt also if it was not for the front, "Hello my name is".... I even contacted Jairus about sending him my own long sleeve shirts to just have the logo on the back, not the front but that never happened and no hard feelings because of.:2_thumbs_up_-_anima

I have no beef with what you are wanting to do, but if the select other wagon owners would rather face book rather than join a site dedicated to wagons, so be it and best wishes. I'd still say hello to a wagon owner, and I've suggested the site to several in my time also. They chose not to join, oh well.
