Ditto. This car looks fabulous! I generally am not a fan of the 56, but this one really makes me reconsider because it looks so clean and hot at the same time. Excellent wagon and excellent look with the whitewalls, chrome rims and hubcaps!

Thank you for the complements on the wheel/tire combo. Cant decide on the caps or no caps or caps with no color or caps with black instead of color in the insert. Kind of like the look of traditional hot rod and no caps. Guess I'll always have them for when we are in that mood.

SmokinBill it looks great with those hupcaps and the blue paint. But it would also look good with the blue part painted white.
I've always loved chrome reversed with baby moons. Maybe you need to buy a truck load of hubcaps and each cruise or show change them. Also without was great. Ya ever consider Cragers?
We're gona keep you so busy swapping caps you won't have time to drive it. :rofl2:

I bought some new sun visors on eBay, so I removed the old ones (well, the old one, since I was missing one) and shined the chrome arms up real good, then slid the new ones on. I couldn't find any listed for a Zephyr or Fairmont, but I took a chance and bought some for a 79 T-Top or sun roof Mustang 'cause they looked the same and turns out they're identical...

Finally got my appointment with the State patrol for my inspection on the 77. The inspector, Female was more enthusiastic than I was about the car. Funny. She gave it a look see, asked what I did to it, to make it road worthy. I said put on a Water pump and added tranny fluid. I got the sticker, (The paperwork and receipt came from a wrecking yard) Bought without title. Anyhow, now I'm going to get the work done and sell it to the local Stereo Shop owner. He's in love with it and the Wagons are a great acousical starting point. Well, I'll post pics pretty quick. Looking for a 70 ish 2WD Suburban. Prefer air conditioned dash and half ton.

Thanks Krash! I have looked and that's where I should pick from to get one with minimal rust!

I uncovered the wagon today and cleaned some leaves out from under the hood.

I also put some "vacuum caps" on the carburetor and going to start it tomorrow and see if that helps it any. If not, I guess I will take it to the shop and see if the can sort out the problem. I have not had any luck in finding a good Quadra-Jet carburetor to borrow long enough to put on there to see if that is the problem, so the only rational thing to do is get a shop to take a look. I know a guy that owns a well known repair shop that I have never thought of before... he is an older Chevy guy too.

The UPS guy delivered my roof rack air deflector a couple of days ago. I installed it this afternoon, since the weather was so freakin' incredible outside! It really looks nice! The condition of it was far better than I expected, especially from a part from the Rust Belt. It has a little blemish on the woodgraining, but it matches the overall condition of the woodgrain already on the car. Very happy!

I don't understand why the air deflector was an option with the roof rack?

Tomorrow, I'll get the car all cleaned up, and vacuum it out. I hate having a dirty car!

I installed the new (new to me) dash top that I found on the FEP site. What a difference it made! I got my dash lights working, just a bad fuse that I didn't see because of my bad eyes. What a difference glasses make! Afterwards I cruised up to the World of Wheels show in Chattanooga. There was only one wagon, but it was a 55 Pontiac, so that was cool. I know the 55 Buick isn't a wagon, but it was identical to the one my Grandfather had when I was a kid. I ate a ton of apples one time and puked all over the floor in the backseat!

Installed a new 140A alternator, but I am not too sure on it. It only puts out 13.9 VDC. More to come.....

Weather in the Seattle area isn't very nice to cars, especially if they aren't properly sealed. My steering wheel was starting to get moldy and sticky, so I took it off and wrapped it with electrical tape until I can either properly clean it up or get another one. Other than that, mostly what I've done is drive it occasionally. I love driving that Impala!
