It's 4 wheel drive. It has a disconnect for 2 or 4 wheel drive and a switch to lock the center differential for full equal lock 4X4 . All push button. No low range but still gets the job done. The wagon is on my profile. It;s my 67 Falcom Futura wagon with a 427 tribute stroker engine in it.
You meant "MUV" rite? .... "Man Utility Vehicle" :2_thumbs_up_-_anima this is a soccer mom thingy van from your "MUV's" era...... ........... since I got Deb a "GUV", Girl Utility Vehicle I use it as a "MHD+SV" = Man Hauling Dogs + Stuff (mini) Van And I can but a 4x8 sheet of plywood in it and close the rear doors..... saves beating the crap out of the wagons so it does have some practical use Enjoy your new ride, it does look nice.....but it's not a van! I hate to admit it, but the SUVs have kinda grown on me. mainly for the AWD/4x4 in bad weather driving.
The Mazda is what is now considered a "crossover". Mazda tried to get the "MPV" moniker to stick to that style of vehicle across the board; MPV means "multi-purpose vehicle", BTW. Plus, the term "crossover" is simply a sexier marketing term for what is a modern station wagon, in an attempt to create a "new" style of vehicle. The manufacturers were loathe to use the term "station wagon" because it was considered antiquated. The term "SUV" is negatively associated with bloated, Suburban-sized truck wagons; while the term "minivan" has a lot of negativity with it, as well. So, the "crossover" was born!
I thought a crossover was a cute guy who wears hotpants, pantyhose and Army boots while driving an SUV to shop at WallyWorld ?
No No No! That is a cross dresser not a cross over. I like the MPV. It is a lot nicer than the crud they sell now. I also kind of like the old Chevy Astros and Ford Aerostars. They are not my first choice, but if I absolutely had to have a minivan, it would be an acceptable option. But that is irrelivant as long as there are GM "B" body wagons, Ford Panther Wagons, and Suburbans.
My lovely daughter Hailee and I took off in the new MPV to Elk Lake here in Oregon to try and "get a little mud on the tires," so to speak. Heavy snow=DON"T DO IT!! Very patient people behind me. We still had a lot of fun and got to play some. 4X4 works well but need a bit more height. Did pretty well considering it's practically stock!
If you are going for snow or to get mud on those tires, make sure you have the RIGHT tires! Winter tires are a must have for heavy snow plus hills.
