I think my favorite is when Clark has his little melt down about his awesome Christmas bonus. Its between that and the scene where cousin Eddie is complaining about being broke then piles 500 lbs of dog food in his shopping cart.
the tree is always a fun part...people always point and giggle when they see a BIG wagon with a tree on the roof....I guess the whole world knows that 'scene' now plus I always have Xmas lights on the roof racks too
Hi guys, this is my winter wagon bring the Christmas Tree at home with my daughter... This is important to ask a non wrapped tree And this is my home made Christmas decoration
^^^^ Awesome! Cool to see some trees on top of some wagons. I'm digging the home-made Christmas Vacation decoration!
My wife and my oldest son (he's 6) are allergic to natural trees, so we do artificial. We celebrated the Christmas Station Wagon this year by packing all 4 kids (in their car seats) and my niece (she is 4) and her car seat and driving through the slush to the Christmas presentation in which my son and oldest daughter had bit parts. We listened to classic Christmas songs from Nat King Cole, Burl Ives, Johnny Mathis, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Twisted Sister (hey, I like a few tunes from Twisted Christmas in the mix too) Andy Williams, Elvis, Harry Belefonte, The Chipmunks (the hands down kiddie favorite), and others while cruising to the show and arguing about who's turn it was to sit in the "way back". I know I was driving a 1992 Caprice Wagon in December 2013, but I suddenly felt like I was driving a 1960 Kingswood in late '59. I am by nature a nostalgic person, but in that moment, I was flooded with nostalgia like I never have been before. The only thing(s) that would have made it even more "period" ( in addition to playing the previous listed songs on a crackly, muffled 2 speaker AM radio instead of my IPod) would have been to return home in the evening and watching a Christmas episode of I Love Lucy on a black and white set and seeing a Marlboro commercial. That and maybe having to wait for a Steam Passenger train pulled by the PRR at the (now Norfolk Southern) line crossing in Seaford DE.
Argo: Sounds like the perfect pre-Christmas evening you had. What an ideal way to travel, all the kids in a big, old wagon, good music on the stereo, and joy flowing.
