Hey Y'all, I was at the local boneyard yesterday getting a few miscellaneous parts for my Eagle wagon. I came across a '69 Buick Skylark Sportwagon with the 400 engine badges, and the glass top roof like the Vista Cruiser, It is pretty much complete. The radiator is missing, and the passenger side rear window in the cargo area is gone as well. Otherwise though, the car is complete. They want to sell the whole car for $500. It seems like a good deal to me, and I would take it in a heartbeat, but it would also be my last heartbeat as Norm would kill me if I got another car BTW the car seems to be rust free. it is not a woodgrained car, it is green and gold two-tone. I can get pics if anyone is interested. I know that these are rarer than the Vista Cruiser, and that this is the last year for the Buick version of these wagons. Anyone interested? I can get you all the info you need, and even help make arrangements. I hate to think of it getting crushed. CaptCarl CaptCarl
it would be nice to see pics regardless (if it is convienent) buy it and save it from bring picked apart
Which is precisely why I have not bought it. I thought that I might be able to hide it behind the DeSoto and my 1950 Spartan Royal Mansion travel trailer, but that would only last for a few weeks before being discovered. On the upside though, I mentioned this to a friend who has 12 cars, all of which are in very good shape. Four of which are wagons, '86 Buick Estate Wagon, '84 Estate Wagon, a Corvair Lakewood wagon, and a '70 Torino wagon. His other half said "no more restoration projects" and he was too was threatened with death if he brought it home. Then he called today to find out where it was located so they could go look at it So while I have not heard from him yet, there is a good chance it will find a good home. Julian (my friend) has the saddest brown Puppydog eyes you have ever seen, and it's hard to say no to them. CaptCarl
Yeah, my folks are putting the house on the market tomorrow, so I would definately die. Now, my dad says if he buys a farm, I can have as many cars as I please. So, here's hoping!!
Okay, here's what you do. Go out and buy a few station wagons, and artfully arrange them in the front yard, Then go out and get yerself a slew of yard Gnomes. Place the yard Gnomes in and around the cars so it looks like the Gnomes are driving the cars. You could even stage it so it looks like there was an accident, complete with broken Gnomes. Or maybe even drunken Gnomes mowing down a Gnome family picnicking in your front yard. The possibilites are endless. And I personally guarantee that the first people tp look at your place will be so charmed, that they will buy the house for full asking price. The downside is that you will probably have to leave all the wagons there. But don't worry, your dad will no doubt be so thrilled with your cunning ploy to sell the house that he will buy you any 5 wagons of your dreams. Let us know how it turns out.... CaptCarl
Ha, Carl you crack me up. The kinda people that buy $500,000 houses aren't usually wagon or lawn gnome fans, especially on the lawn! But I will keep this in mind when I find me a nice double-wide!
my place is appraised at 800,000.....and theres a small amount of wagons in the yard.....10!! plus 2 !! go buy it!!!.dont let anything but fear and common sense stop ya!!! $500....hell i'd buy it...and it aint a Ford!!
Yeah, I was mistaken on the listing price, it's actually 599,900. It's worth more appraised, somewhere's in the ballpark of 750,000 but with the housing market the way it is, we're trying to get her gone for a steal. And i just keep buying the lotto tickets with hopes I can win and buy the house! You must have a hell of a house Rev!
