I spoke briefly with the owner of this 59 Squire. He has visited us on the Station Wagon Forum, but is not a member. At first I thought this was the wagon owned by one of our members here, but the owner of this wagon reminded me that the 59 Squire I was thinking of (along with a 59 Colony Park) is in Washington state.
He told me about taking his wagon on the Auto-Train from Orlando to Virginia, and then taking the car to Cape May, New Jersey. I had wondered about the Auto Train, and have considered checking into it. He said that for the car and sleeping berths for two people, the fare was $1000 one way. Thats not cheap, for a vacation, but it would be comparable to the cost of shipping a car alone from the mid Atlantic area to Florida (or vise versa). He said they are very careful of the vehicles and take a video walk around each car. Its something I'll keep in mind for the future.

I agree with his views on the current president, but was glad the messages were just magnets, not adhesive stickers, on the car.

[sorry we didnt get a chance to meet while you were down . i was there fri to sun and my wagon was parked at the pinstripers getting some restoration work on the striping.
as far as the auto train. the rates vary my trip from va down to sanford was about $200 . You dont need a cabin if you wanna save some buxs as you are able to recline in the seat you get with the car . it is similar to an airline recliner.
