88 Mercury Colony Park

    Nice merc dude. My first wagon was a 1962 colony park.

    I can't quite tell from the picture. Was the trim around where the woodgrain was removed or just painted over. I guess that it wouldn't be a greivous sin for me to just remove the damaged woodgrain from mine and leave is single color (a Mercury country sedan as it were) but not sure what the best approach to the trim would be.

    The previous owner painted over the wood grain and trim. The paint is cracking where the wood grain is so if I were you I'd remove it.

    When I lived in Texas I had a 92 Buick Roadmaster wagon that I removed the stickers. I found a member on the impala forum that removed the wood grain and followed his posts. It wasn't hard, just time consuming. I used a heat gun set on low. The problem was with the trim holes since I don't know how to weld. Unfortunately I had to sell it before I could finish.
