Ha. I can do this too Rev. ;) I seemed to get a bit cranky and picked on some new members lately as they did their introductions. Or whatever it was they were doing. Oops, I'm doing it again!:49:
So I apologize for being a dirty groucy old man. Believe it or not today is one of my better days. Maybe I feel too good.:D But I love this forum and the membership. I just feel personally that many newbys are taking advantage trying to sell, buy, and ask questions at a time when they are supposed to be introducing themselves.
I want to be friends and friendly with everyone, old and new. I am nothing but another member. I have no right to tell anyone what to do. Therefore I appologize from the bottom of my heart.

I wish you had been on the three other forums I was on! Most of the people over there are total sociopaths! Two of them were "valued" members, one committed suicide at age 23 over a year ago, and the other gem was banished for a while. The people here, with little exception are really nice. I'm not glad the one killed himself, in fact, I felt bad. He was a genius or close to it, and was easily manipulated by others.

For that, we have to just keep prodding him;)
Since your title mentions not only one member but members in plural, does this mean you are keeping this thread active for potentially new transgressions agains us fellow members, Sir?
Here's your penance, Sir. Take 2 of these and you'll be just fine afterwards: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0atv9v2nNww http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtLvw78HXMQ

    Bravo Cat.

Although I quite enjoy your little rants :) and snappy/clever remarks. It's quite a British trait you have and one I enjoy too!

I agree with you that just out of basic polite courteousness to established members that newbies should at least say 'hello' first before going into full-blown rants, sales or advice etc.

I love this site, and at the very least visit it daily. I have to say you are all so welcoming, helpful and friendly. I've owned lot's of cars, and been in many online clubs and forums dedicated to them and SWF is easily the best.

I think if you own a Wagon particularly an old one, It says something about the person you are which we all can relate to. - It's hardly a threatening car or a car like a Mercedes or BMW that has attitude - It just says 'I'm not here to impress you, I'm just here for a good time'.

    Just like this forum.

    Best wishes to you all.

    WagonQueen.

Alright alright here's my two cents worth on this subject. On a forum such as ours (and frankly on all open forums on the net) the intended audience is true enthusiasts of the forums focus, in this case Station Wagons. That being said there will always be people out there looking to exploit and or stir up the sh*t as it were. Most of the time it's easy to spot the ones who are just "using" the forum to sell something or find something or on occasion argue about something. In the end those with a true passion for wagons, whether they have one or not, become part of our family here.

Thanks for the apology Cat, but no apology was neccessary for wanting to defend the improper use of something we all love so much. You are much loved and much needed here.

    Dewey.

A new neighbor moves in - right next door to you. He comes over, knocks on your door, doesn't introduce himself and asks you if you want to buy his station wagon. You can't see it and he can't describe it. He wants top dollar for it. You say you're not interested; the new neighbor asks you to help him sell his station wagon - go ask all your friends if they want to buy this stranger's wagon. You think not, and the new neighbor goes away mad, saying you don't know anything about cars and you're not friendly.

This forum is like that neighborhood sometimes....

Things get "read into" when they're written down - don't sweat it Model T.

Won't you be my neighbor? :rofl2:
I guess I expect all neighbors to be like Mr Rogers or Wilson hanging over the Home Improvement fence.

I didn't expect all of these varied answers. I've been called everything from an Englishman to a pervert. Thanks! Bob's not my uncle and I've never chased a Bird. :rofl2:
Yes, I'm reading betwixt the lines and appreciate everything said---written. I've never really followed our family tree too far altho our oldest son married a gal from Blackpoole and her family has rubbed off a bit. Still that's not getting back to my roots. Rather going out on a limb!
I am not ill. Sick? That's debatable.
As for Hans, most everything he writes both scares me and makes me laugh. As for juicy stories mine would be very old and best forgotten. :naughty:
Keep welcoming our new members and lets be happy station wagons are getting more popular. I guess looking for, selling, and asking for help during an intro is not such a bad thing and I see it on the few other sites I am on. Maybe that's why I mentioned it here.
At least my attention span is longer than a -------- ?????
