A few weeks ago I had the camera in the car and spotted this going the other way, a 63 Lark.... And after running some erens stopped at a grocery store and it was in the parking lot, but no camera with me today:banghead3:. By fluke the owner (Mike) came out as I was drooling over the wagon and had a nice chat. It's not perfect, needs some TLC but dam would I love to own it! some bubbling starting on a older repaint etc, nothing that looked like it would scare you away, interior seats dedone at some point but not stock....a real decent 25 footer. First time I have ever seen in person the sliding rear roof witch yeah, it was cool to see it open! Best part, his dad bout the car brand new and he's the second owner as of a few years ago. His plans are to do the car over one panel at a time and then go for a complete repaint, he did the tailgate last year he said. Also being how rare the car is today and parts even more, he lucked out at a Oregon swap meat a has 2 NOS chrome tai lites with lenses. I told him about the forum....and how we like pics so hopefully he will join.
Sounds like a great wagon Tedy. Hope he joins us. I've mentioned before, the only one I've ever really noticed was maybe 25 miles away in a storage yard of a Studebaker owner. If I took pictures way back then I have no idea where they are.:banghead3:
Ah, the elusive Stude Wagonaire! This was the same model the Lutheran HS kids did last year. Wonder if it sold, and to who?? We haven't seen any posts from olivepick in a while on the 63 Bel Air restore project? http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15816&page=7
I love hearing about Studes found on the road where they belong!!! It's even better when I hear of them being close to 'home' even when I am not. If the owner joins a local Stude Club- I'll see it one of these days...
