I have a 62 belair and it needs new coil springs. Where to get them and what to get. The car has 2" drop spindles on already with disk brakes. Does any one know what the factory ride hight was on the cars? Where can I buy parts for the tail gate and window felt? Hard to find parts for the wagons. Any help would be good. Thanks

Check sites like Eckler's Late Great Chevys and Impala Bobs for things like window felts and door weather stripping. 4 door sedan stuff should work. They have springs too, but even with standard springs, you are going to sit 2" lower in the front because you have dropped spindles. You can probably get springs from your local NAPA too. Tail gate parts you may have to get from a junkyard out in the southwest I am sure someone else on the forum will offer some more possibilities.

Have you tried Classic Industries (www.classicindustries.com)?

They specialize in Chevy parts. Give 'em a call though; sometimes their live agents find parts that their website cannot. They helped me out a couple of years ago when I needed a very hard to find fuel tank for my clamshell wagon.

As for the tailgate window felt, I'm wondering if an upholstery shop near you could fabricate some for you..?

    Hope this helps...good luck. :tiphat:
