Bought a '77 Country Squire a couple of weeks ago and was pointed to this forum by a friend. What a great reference! I'll be back with questions and post pics of upgrades. Since buying the wagon I've been away from home and not had a chance to really get into checking her out. Car looks great and drives OK so first order of business will be to put new springs underneath and all new parts in the front end. After that things can progress at my pace. Already I know I will have to repair the drivers electric window. Motor runs but it goes off track or crooked when operated. Has the built in vent window. I'll be searching the site for clues. Back to reading all of the threads about Country Squires. I put some photos in the "garage." boveman
She looks to be in prime condition, Boveman! '77, luxury interior, all the power accessories - you've got a winner there. I'm wondering if it had been featured in our 'Auctions, Craig's List, etc.' section? If it was, i'm sure we would have been electronically drooling over it. Welcome to the SWF! Marshall
Welcome! Always nice to meet other Squire owners! I'm in the process now of re building the front end under my 70 Squire. Let's see some more pics
Thanks for all of the compliments. A young man who helps me out and who loves cars was going to look at a couple of old Squires in Michigan for me. The car were in broker's showrooms and very pricey. He checked craigslist and found my car. He made the deal and I flew up to drive her home to Kentucky. No probs except one wire wheel cover is somewhere on I75. engine is original 400 2V. Transmission was replaced at 50K miles. Car was garaged and driven to shows for last 20 years. The repaint in factory color is showing age but I can live with it for now. No rust. I burned almost 1qt oil ij 300 miles but the motor ran smoother on second tank. I think it just needed to run. Boveman
Nice find Boveman; I know you're going to enjoy it and the swf. Seems like you've got a real find there.
