My '64 Panhard 17 break needed some TLC: rust-issues had to be taken care off.....

Now, it's fit for the road again:

@1964countrysedan: The engine is a little 850 cc (about 52 cubic inch) 2-cylinder. As one of your countryman said: "I've had lawnmowers with bigger engines..." :rofl2:
Top speed should be around 120 km/h (about 75 mph). I cruise around 90 km/h (around 56 mph) on the highway.

@MikeT1961: Thanks. The owner of the other Panhard 17 break (breakus) has a far more beautiful car!

    Very cool looking car!!:yahoo:
I've never seen one in person.
Does it have third row (way way back) seats?
    Please post some interior photos!
I'll bet that with that tiny engine it beats my Buicks 9 MPG.

Pinebox, if your 77 Buick is managing 9 miles to the gallon, either it is seriously hot-rodded or it is just plain not running right in the least! My 78 Buick Electra Limited coupe had the factory 80 litre (about 20 U.S. gallon) tank, and could do Toronto to Sault Ste. Marie, about 700 km, or 450 miles, on a tank, with some left over.

    Thanks for the comments guys!
The Panhard will do about 28 mpg, although the manufacturer promissed 37 mpg for the sedan version (the stationwagon has a longer wheelbase and more weight though...).
With the tiny engine, nothing happens below 4000 rpm. Above that, the car starts to move. The engine will rev happily unto 7000 rpm :)

The factory tryed a version with a third row. Never made it into production.
