    Howdy all,

First of all thanks to all guys who share their information and post it on this forum, for me the info will be invaluable when I will be modding my 76 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser. My former car was a 96 Impala, I owned the car for 5 years and it was my daily driver, even through the winter with no problems whatsoever, it was my best car EVER. Unfortunately I sold the car last month because life is too short to own only one car or I would have kept it. With wife and 2 kids, I bought my dreamcar - a 76 Olds Custom Cruiser 455 from first owner. It is still in the USA and will be shipping shortly over here per container. Living in the Netherlands (20 minutes from Amsterdam) where gas prices are highest in the world it will be carefull planning trips but well worth it[IMG]

PS. The Olds won't be a daily driver and surely won't be driven in winter.
Thanks for all and keep up the good work!

Welcome to the nuthouse! You're sure to find a home around here. That is a great choice of wagon. There are things that can be done to get the fuel consumption on that big old wagon down to something reasonable, especially on the highway. With not to much trouble, you should be able to get it somewhere on the rosy side of 10 litres/100 km. With a bit of extra work, you should be able to get that down into the 8 range. That is highway consumption, of course. City will be noticeably worse.

Well my first idea is to remove the EGR, AIR crap and catalyst converter and install headers with dual exhaust to let the 455 breath better and get better MPG. No other modifications at the moment (alu heads, intake and cam or 200R4 swap). I've always been wondering if there is noticeable better/worse MPG between pre-smog '72 (high compression) and cars that are from '76 (low comp)?

    Fuelish idea!!!

    Hi Full size Lover!!
    I have the same disease.......
Could you fill the back of the wagon with 100 1 gallon containers of gas for the trip over the pond....
I am kidding but good luck with all that gorgeous American Steel.
My first love was a 1973 Olds 98 Regency ( I bought it used and rough)
I can't even begin to tell you of the firsts in that Olds...
Well it also led to the first engine swap and I have been hooked ever since.
I am still looking for that black 73 Regency, I want my childhood back...
    Enjoy and good luck
    Stay warm
    Rich(y)
