I agree fannie. Love those wagons in #3. And no woodgrain to worry about.

Here's my vote for favorite station wagon pictures, the ever elegant Colony Park.

Great link. I'm with the guys who like the colonnade Buicks. I like the '73s the best and I'd take mine with wood or without. The Olds is a visual treat with the wood, however. That lower beltline sculpting with the di-noc stretched over it just does it for me...(with out being weird about it...)

Much as I do love the Colonade wagons, there is one reason I would never own one: Those brake lamps are, to me, plain old fashioned dangerous. They are too small, too low, and too prone to being washed out in the glare from the bumpers.

81X11 pointed that out in a thread one time. He was thinking about doing that when he had his CC. Decided against it.

It could've been a early ad brochure, I've seen a lot of those for cars with minor details that you don't see on the production car. That Oldsmobile lettering would have been a carry over from the boats like mine, where it rests above the drivers side low beam. Though I won't be reusing the lettering on my car whenever it finally see's a paint booth again, I think it looks a little out of place.

A good example of details on ads I haven't seen on a production car is this 80's Custom Cruiser with the painted bumper, never seen a CC with a painted bumper or that thin chrome strip in place of the rocker trim:

What I find most interesting about these old ads is not the accuracy or representation of that car in it's era, it's how many differences between the advertised car and actual product there are. For instance, those cornering lamps? I have only ever seen them on one CC, my '89 parts car, may recycle them add them to my '86 if I can find another fender with a hole for 'em.

Overall, these most old advertisements are strange and add in and/or miss details. Rule of thumb, just 'cause a brochure, or magazine ad shows your car as having a feature doesn't mean it ever had them.

Also, I apologize for the 80's depicted above.
