    hmmm

Looks like a nice wagon, but the price is a little inhibitive for me. I understand they spent a lot on paint and undercoating and rims and tires, but, and would this have been available with the Windsor when new?

I would think so, since other '69 Fords were available with 351W. My '69 Cougar had its original 351W-4v. And I've seen plenty of '69 Mustangs with 351W.

I really like these wagons, and if its as nice as it appears, then the price seems reasonable.
The one thing that has always bothered me about these 68-69 Montego wagons though, is the rear wheel openings. They use the rear quarters from the Torino wagon, so the body stamping around the rear wheel well opening matches the opening on the front fender of the Torino. The indentation around the rear wheel well opening looks completely wrong to me on the Montego given the Montego's flaired wheel well openings on the front fenders.

Personally, I like the surfboards. I wonder if the owner of this wagon surfs Lake Erie. I'm in Virginia and have thought about a surfboard for my wagon. Yes, Virginia is at least on the coast, but I'm a 3 hour drive from the ocean. Is that close enough to put a surfboard on or in my wagon?

He must think it takes surf boards to make a wagon cool!

Well, there is that. The Belvedere wagon is still in Massachusetts. Maybe I could put a surfboard on the Passatt wagon. I could use it to prop open the VW's hood each time I add another quart of oil.

I have a friend in Delaware, who lives literally a block from the ocean. He has a '59 Ranchero; beautiful car/truck. He had a pair of period surfboards custom-made just to mount in the bed of his truck.

He asked the surfboard builder about maintaining the boards, and he was sent down the block to a surf shop. The proprietor described how to wax the boards, to lay on the wax thick with little globs of it here and there so that your feet would stick to the board better.

My friend had to explain that the boards were for appearances only, LOL.
