I really don;t like this new United Socialist States of America led by Chairman Obamao. Maybe it is time for new American Revolution. I really wouldn't mind running over politicians like Feinstein and Schumer with a big ol' classic American station wagon. :Blasting_anim:

While I do not wish them physical harm, I think they do need a wake up call. Maybe taking them for a ride in my wagon and showing them the emission read out. If they were so worried about the environment, I think they should be required to fly coach, and not personal jets. A jet uses more fuel per person than any car could driving the same distance.

I don't care if it's Obama or a Republican, KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF OUR CARS!!

Im in complete agreence with you guys! However we should find a nonviolent way to show our love for these cars. something like get a read out of our emissions and have it lettered (in a vinal of a sort to not hurt our precious wagons) on the sides of our car. nothing amazingly huge but enough to show these cars arent as deadly as more than half of the other cars on the road. like how prius cars sometimes have "100 MPG CAR HERE!" on there sides.

I really don't think it's fair to assign some of the blame to President Obama on this, since the bill was just introduced in the Senate last week. There hasn't even been a senate vote on it yet. Let's not jump the gun......

As to Feinstein - yeah, go ahead. You can run her over.

I think SquireDon said it best (15:10 today's posting).

One question I have though is, if air pollution is such a focal concern with the gov't, why is it only "cars" are targeted? What about the smoke-belching trucks?? And here in CA, we have numerous school bus fleets that must date back to the 60's...and those fart out huge black clouds through at least the first two gears! What about regulating THEM?

Like many of you said, it's not a matter of cars (vehicles) being old, it's the poorly maintained that should be the concern.

I wish no physical harm on these people, even though I never agree with liberals and their ideals. But come on, My car is twice as old as any other car in the parking lots and is belching half as much smoke as some of them. It's very well tuned, babied when driven, and has all the emissions BS on it that we all hate.

If they gave me $2500 dollars for my wagon, CASH, I'd do it right now, @ 11:51 PM on Sunday night and never look back.

And then I'd buy another wagon :dancing:

    A smaller one.

    what happens to the cars?
do they go to the boneyard where i can pull parts? or are they immediately crushed?

this bill will put a dent in future collections...less chance of getting that perfectly restored ford tempo!

i have a suggestion, find a fuel that works in most IC engines with little or no modification and is better for the environment...if they can make synthetic oil they can make synthetic gas.

maybe pass a bill giving people $2500 (vouchers to be used at a garage only) to tune up their cars?...this would make everyone happy.

how long till the GOV. tells people, that to own a pickup or suv or wagon, you need to have an approved reason.
Cuba tried taking the old cars off the road by offering them a brand new Lada in exchange for their pre1960 packard, chevy desoto etc. people did it at first but, upon seeing how crappy the lada was people demanded their old cars back.

I don't think we are to the point of needing reasons for owning a car. However, once you give Big Brother a starting point.....the government tries to sprint to the end. You know what they say,

"If you give a mouse a cookie............he'll want a glass of milk"

When will it end? Give them no chance to limit the use or take our cars off the road.

This global warming thing is the biggest pile of BS mankind has ever come up with. Unfortunately, Obama is buying into it.......kinda discredits him in my opinion.
