OK, I'm going to post up a few of the Auctions interesting items, wagon-related, of course. If you want to play, DO NOT GO TO B-J'S Website, as they post the winning bids there. The prices posted there, are WITH the buyer's premium added, which is a minimum of 10%, sometimes more. I will go by the price posted on B-J's website, so adjust your 'guesses' up by 10-15% or so.

After a few guesses, I'll post the price the vehicle went for.

    Good luck!

    Marshall

"This 1957 New Yorker nine passenger station wagon is just one of 1,391 ever produced and has been lovingly upgraded to touring specs. She has a modern 5.9 Liter fuel injected power plant mated to a 46RE automatic overdrive transmission with upgraded power steering gear box, front and rear sway bars and power disc brakes. She also has all the amenities like Vintage Air, cruise control, power windows, CD player and modern gauges with just a touch over 5,000 miles since its build. All of her stainless beltline and side trim have been lovingly polished to a high luster. Her chrome bumpers have been replated and last but not least brand new vintage wire wheels wrapped in BFG Silver Town wide whites to set off that beautiful red and white pearl. Based on legendary Mopar designer Virgil Exner's bold lines and exaggerated proportions, this 1957 New Yorker is the pinnacle of '50s automotive Americana. **TITLE IN TRANSIT**"

1, 2, 3, and 4 I would not bid twopence ha'penny for. They can keep them. 5 is a gem, and my guess is $110,000 - $120,000. 6 is an interesting thing. A true "Resto-mod", in that it LOOKS bone stock, but has modern running gear. The good thing is that they did keep it all Chrysler. I'm betting on $90,000 to $100,000.

Thanks Krash for coming up with the game!

#1 - What is a "Lokar driveline disc brake"? It says it has disc brakes, then the info says it has a driveline disc brake. Is it a disc brake on the driveshaft? The front hubs look like they have those goofy "fake" disc covers which hide drum brakes. I'm guessing $40,000.

    #2 - Narrow market for this one - I'm guessing $22,000.

    #3 - What's not to like? $60,000

#4 - Transmission isn't specified - not sure if this is only good for cruising the fairgrounds and parking lots, in between 1/4 mile runs. It's got some provenance to it - $55,000

#5 - These wagons regularly go for over $100k - the collector car market is rising so I'm guessing $115,000.

#6 - My favorite - it would probably bring more if it were all original, but I'd prefer it the way it's built now - $57,000.

Holy cow! Way off on most of them. Guess I won't quit my day job. Auctions are scary - every time I've won an auction, I think to myself "Great, you were the one willing to pay the most". I don't know if I've ever thought "What a great deal I just got". Even with the Fairlane I have now. I "won" it on the ebay auction - and I have no buyer's remorse. Thanks Krash for putting the game together.

I'm surprised that Chrysler went that high. Just looking at the pictures earlier I just wasn't feeling it. The front end styling doesn't do it for me. The interior looks kind of blah, and I'd rather have a later model 5.7, 6.1, or 6.4. Shows what I know.
