I love the '59 Chevys as well and there seems to be a nice array of them here! I love the '59 Impala sedan. What would have really been cool was had saved a '59 Impala convertible and a '59 Impala Nomad wagon! :) Interestingly I didn't see any '60 models!

I totally agree Oldfox! I was thinking the exact same thing!

I should have known someone had beat me to it. lol. :)

I love Chevys from post war to 1957, and then I just don't care for them until 1961. Even then, I am put off by the "X" frame design, and don't really like them again until 1965. I like the styling of the 61-64 cars, but I'd have to add side rails to the frame if I were restoring one for myself, or even if I found a nice original car I wanted to drive. I just don't feel safe with that chassis design. I know that probably seems quirky, but It is how I feel.

Now a 1953 Chevy wagon with a 3 on the tree plus overdrive and a 292 six with three one barrel carbs masquerading as the old 235.5 Blue Flame would be my idea of a sweet 50s ride. a small cap HEI pretending to be a points distributor would make it even better.

Due to the old age of the car, would this still be a problem?

Guess depending on the state. I did a '55 Chevy truck here without a VIN tag about 12 years ago and it was kind of a pain, needing to haul it 40 miles more than a few times for inspection by State Troopers and every time a different affidavit requirement so a year later finally had a number issued to it. I wouldn't care to go thru all the stuff again.

hey, hey, hey/ and a cautionary tale, of sorts.

I remember getting posts about this collection on Facebook. All these cars were in a garage, the kind that comprises the entire first floor of a good size building--- that had open windows on all four walls. :49: As they were pulled out of storage, many of these cars had inches of dust and dirt caked on them. Because of the open windows, they were only shielded from the weather, not proofed from it. The ones closest to the windows fared worst... and, my pet peeve again, what's with not vacuuming the floors of the cars you're trying to sell.?. nobody's (supposedly) been in these cars for years, and there's noticeable mess on the floors. :banghead3: Now--- if I ever do win big enough at the Lotto, to have a car collection, I've been thinking about limiting it to five or ten, so each car can get driven once a week/every other week. AND,,, store them in a well insulated garage. Maybe even one without windows. :1st: or, at the very least, windows that don't open. Green house windows, that don't let direct sunlight hit the cars.;)

Does this mean you have seen this wagon in person?

Looks like it's on the pillar in the pic, but hard to tell...and the VIN is on the inventory list

Yeah, I think on the video (one of them) that the lady said that the VIN tag was missing. I guess they have the # though since they have the title, so that is a plus. I guess? lol. :)

Must have been on the second video...I suffered through listening to her on the first...that wasn't going to happen again

Surprises me that somebody that grew up around the auto industry seems so clueless about stuff many consider the basics.

    Thanks for the cluing-in.

lol, she kinda rambled and there were like 2 or 3 different links with her talking. I think it was the one where she was showing the cars is when she said that the tag was missing... looks like someone popped it off.

This reminds me of when we had to auction off all of the stuff from our dealership. The building had been there since at least the 20s. We didn't have nearly as much cool stuff as this once-in-a-lifetime auction, but it was still pretty sad to see it all go.

I've been to 2 of her auctions. Horrible auctioneer. A lot of her auctions are very misleading. Did anybody go to her auction in Iowa 6-7 years ago? 2 bachelors owned a towing business with some 400 impounded cars from the 50's-'70's. Very nice collection of very complete cars. She failed to mention that all the cars were in a flood plain and had been completely under water 3 times in the past 20 years. That was a wasted trip.

how do you prove that title is for that car since it has no VIN. I think depending on your state it could be a real pain. Just my :2cents:
