Has anyone rebuilt the gate and window motors for a clamshell wagon? If so, is there a link or description somewhere online that could help? Thanks, Brandon
That's a good thread, particularly because it shows precisely where the window and tailgate motors are, but I don't think it answers his question. He needs to actually rebuild the motors, not just get them in and out of the car.
My bad. I thought that this was the thread where people were chiming in about fixing their motors and informing about their success with buying new motors that worked perfectly as replacements. If this is not that thread then I don't know where it is. I know I read a thread (or more than one) that mentioned ways of fixing the motors and the thread had pix. In those threads there were also guys that had replaced those motors with new ones that fit and worked perfectly. The info is here...I guess I just don't know how to find it.
Thanks for the reply. I read one thread where a guy used a Blazer motor and said it worked but he didn't say what was necessary to make it work. Brandon
What about a place that rebuilds starters, alternators, etc.? This place is down the street from our office: http://www.dlenzautoelectric.com I figure if/when my tailgate motors go, they're the first people I'll ask about a rebuild. We work a lot with this shop, and they can do anything: http://www.kipmotor.com/service_restoration.htm However, they don't do much with American cars. I should see what it would take to get them to reproduce those tailgate seals that no one can find. They reproduce rubber parts for British cars. David S.
