Well, looks like I will be workin on the 96 roadmaster. My son decided to listen to his boom box that he installed and when he was done just left the car with the ignition "ON" (no engine running) and one of his freinds left the back pass door open. The car sat that way for 3 days. The rains came and went and the interior is soaked the battery dead and the coil and distributer are fried! (that's ungreatful kid's for ya!) So now he is using his money to repair the damage but guess who gets to help him work on it??? I guess it all part of growing up and learning but I just don't understand how these kid's just have no clue about shutting things down when you done using them. They do the same thing inside as well leave everything on/running and just walk away.

Whow..... maybe you should take a picture of his boom box in front of him, use this camera and I'll bet he'll get a clue.......

JimpiBoy: Add a cross over between the pipes and you will gain a few more horsepower. The other reason the crossover is important is if you damage one of the pipes or mufflers, it will balance the back pressure. Uneven back pressure will burn out valves pretty quickly, meaning an engine rebuild. Why any system, these days, comes without the cross over is a total mystery to me, as the benefits have been so well known for so long!

Stopped by my local brake shop with the Bonnevile today...pedal has been feeloing "different" lately. Not soft, but it seems like I have to press it harder to stop.

    My timing was excellent.

The front pads & rotors were fine, but the rears were worn down to the rivets and they found that the driver's side rear axle seal was leaking. The lube hadn't soaked the brake shoes yet, but the backing plate was pretty gooey.

New axle seals, new rear brakes and all is good again!

If one of my kids did that they'd be walking everywhere for a long time and pay for the damage.
That's a lot of bucks if the distributor is shot , and on an LT-1 a major PITA to replace.
According to the owner's manual/s you're supposed to be able to leave the key in the "run" position without frying the coil or breaker unit on the 91-96 B bodys?
    Maybe not??

If he was my son, he would turn every bolt, nut and screw. I would only be the supervisor (sitting there with a cold drink and maybe even eating a bag of chips). If he is doing the same type of things in the house, he would not have a cell phone, television, or computer privileges until he shows responsibility (especially the cell phone). You have to train them, or they will become feral. Without respect for their own things, and those of others, they will find a difficult road ahead (sorry for the pun).

I separated the air lines going to my air shocks so I can fill them individually.

Over the 4th holiday my son will get VERY up close and personal with one 96 Buick roadmaster wagon. I did some checking and the dist. is toast. No signal at all. The coil is still good and so is the module (tested all of them). LUCKY for him I have a liftime warranty on this unit from advance auto. So replacment is free no questions asked. All he is responsible for is the gaskets and the coolant. He will just LOVE how GM put that badboy right behind the water pump (great design don't you think.... :disagree: NOT!). Well ta ta for now I will ya all posted on the boys handy work :rofl2:!

Not much progress with mine. I was on a roll getting the car put back together and got as far as I could and my dad was going to help me, but last week he took a bad tumble and fell off the roof of the house and got bruised up pretty badly. It will be two weeks on Thursday and he is still very sore. The doctors said no broken bones, but a lot of tendons were bruised and muscles, so he has not felt like doing much, but hopefully I can get back with it soon. It was on vacation last week and had planned on getting a lot done, but it didn't happen.
