    hey gang,
I'm considering a new set of wheels for my '67 Polara Wagon and have tried searching the gallery but no success. Pics of the Polara should be attached, before it was cleaned up.

Its either Cragar S/S (the classic chrome wheels), Torq Thrust D in Gray (don't care for Torq Thrust II) or I'd even consider cleaning up a set of Slotted Mags since I see a nice set for $350 right now on C/L in my area.

If I buy new wheels it will be a pair of 15x6 in front, pair of 15x8 in the rear. Tires sizes can be determined later.

Anybody have pics of their '60's vintage wagon with any of these wheels? What would be your preference? Low profile tires, 17s or larger wheels, modern look wheels are not within my interest . . . And, I'm in the Denver area in case anybody has a set of wheels they would like to get rid of. Willing to re-finish a set of Torq Thrusts or polish out old slotted mags if they come cheap.

I've always liked these cars with chrome smoothies and white walls. Standard 15" smoothies would look great IMO.

    Here would be my choices.

Magnum 500's look so "right" on these cars.

    Followed by Chrysler Rallye wheels

And a cheap alternative that looks great is 1980's-spec Chrylser Police wheels, with classic caps and centers. Lots of these still out there, and they look great on these older cars.

Before I even got down to Mike's suggestion I'm thinkin' 15"X8" cop wheels powder coated with white pearl and fitted with the correct baby moons, Vented of course. But I think the guy in the lakewood 'burb has gone over to the dark side with the new pot law in the Mile High. Tell the guy to keep the wheels and you'll give him $200 and not a penny more(y) Hey, that's double what the scrap price iz. Who knowz, he might run out of $ for munchiez:evilsmile: Jer

Torq Thrust D's - my vote. Perfect vibe for your wagon. Change the altitude while you're at it! :yup:

I'd go with 15" wheels, nothing bigger. I like your idea of staggered. That's the route I'd go. My first preference would be some Magnum 500s. Second choice would be the Torq Thrust Ds. Good luck, and post up some pics when you them on.

thanks for all the great ideas and especially the C/L listings. I forgot how much I love the Chrysler Rallye wheels too. The cop wheels in pearl white, center caps, etc. would be great too - but these in Lakewood would break the budget.

I'll post some pics in a week or so with what we go with. Updated pictures would be good anyway - never remember to take pictures. Its out for window tinting, and maybe a 4 bbl intake/Holley 4166 (orig carb for '69 cars with 440) upgrade if labor doesn't cost too much, I'd do it but no time. The 4166 carb is only 600 cfm w/vac sec and the Polara wagon has its original 383/727 auto.
