I just bought a 1963 Chevy bel air wagon and just got looking at a few things.
I took the tail gate inside cover off and saw that the torsion rod that helps you lift the tailgate was broken, and the end bracket is gone.
Dose anyone have a picture of the inside of the tailgate?
There are no wires going to the key switch. Is there a company that makes a wire loom for the tailgate to use the key switch to lower the tailgate window?
What years are the tailgate the same? Thanks

I assume you have the power tailgate if looking for the loom. I gutted a 62 power gate that I will be using for my 64, and kept the bars if interested let me know.

Are you sure you don't have a manual tailgate? Is there an electric motor there, just missing the harness? They (probably) built more manual gates than power.

The '61 - '64 (big) Chevy gates are all unique, as far as the gate shell itself. The innards though should all be similar.
