4 years ago, I almost bought a Dodge Polara Station Wagon shown at 2000 €. This car belonged to a friend of mine 30 years ago about. This car was from Canada.
When I found this car for sale, I really wanted to buy it. But when I arrived at the owner ... I've changed my mind! In fact, the seller had completely disassembled the car. It was a huge model for which he lacked the box! Moreover, the body had the perforating rust everywhere. The engine block was broke due to freezing. And some parts were missing !
I do not know what became to the car. Because the seller told me he preferred to put it in scrap yard rather than lower the price!
Some pictures of the car below!
Here are some photos I had taken during the visit.

Prefer to scrap rather then lower the price.....sadly I've experienced that before with some nut bar sellers.....:slap:

What a shame, I also wonder what may have become of it.

Any 60 Dodge wagon is rare. If it were a Polara, it would be one of less than 10 left that are known to exist. But, the 60 Polara wagon was a hardtop. The full post extending to the roof between the front and rear doors identifies this one as a Matador or Dart wagon. This one has the side trim ( and tail lights) of a Polara or Matador, but the grille of a Dart. My guess is that its a Matador. The Dart grille was likely alot easier to find than a Polara/Matador grille and was replaced at some point in the car's history.
I've never seen a 60 Polara wagon myself and have only seen two 60 Matador wagons in my life.
Its a rare wagon, I too hope it didn't get scrapped.

Thank you for this information Jim 68cuda.(y)
I also thought it was a Dart but the seller said it was a Polara!
But I'm afraid that the car is destroyed because the owner was :banghead3: and no one has heard from this car!

If you notice, he said it was a Canadian Dodge. Our Dodges were often a strange mix of parts. It could well be a Polara wagon with a full B-pillar. It certainly looks like a Polara in trim level. I cannot remember seeing a Canadian Polara to know what they used for a grill on them. Being a Canadian car it is far rarer than the American counterpart. It could well have been the ONLY Canadian Polara wagon left!

The Polara, Matador, and the three series in the Dart line all shared the same basic body.

The Dodge Matador wagon shared much of it's trim with the Polara, but was not a hardtop.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

The Dart wagon had different trim, grille and tail light bezels. The Dart wagon was available in three different trim levels (Phoenix, Pioneer, and Senica).
    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

The Polara wagon was a hardtop only body style that was otherwise identical to the Matador on the outside with one trim exception. The Polara hardtop wagon had wide trim strips on the tops of the front fenders.

    Hi Jim 68cuda,

Thank you for this additionnal information. So I can say that is a Matador with a front grill of Dart.

...and the center hood ornament is from a Dart as well, so the hood was likely replaced as well.
The photo of the front of the blue Dodge wagon does look like the dash is from a 60 Plymouth rather than a 60 Dodge. That was pretty common for Dodges built in Canada.
With that said, the model lineup and body styles produced in Canada may have varied from what was built in the US. As an example, Canadian buyers could buy a Dodge Monaco convertible from 1965 through 70 while US buyers had to settle for the lesser Polara series if they wanted a full size Dodge convertible.

[IMG]60 Dodge. The numbers on the speedometer can actually be seen when standing in front of the car.

    Maybe, maybe not...?

Going along with what Jim has mentioned, Canadian built cars from all the big 3 shared a lot, and just to be different although for this particular wagon I can't say for sure but different trim was shared on cars to make them that "little" bit different than some US models.

Question for you Bull, do you recall if the speedo and dash were in kilometers on this wagon? I have online seen a couple old Mopars from that era that were built in Canada for export and set up for KMPH where as if it's a Canadian car that some how made it over the pond later in life it still would have been MPG.
