    Paradise, Missouri - that is....

Went shopping for some tomato plants and had an hour to kill, so I drove around Smithville Lake and stopped in Paradise for Diet Coke. You're looking at the majority of downtown Paradise in this pic - across the street is a bait, tackle, beer and gas joint. That's all there is in Paradise....

Bait, tackle, beer and gas, with a lake near. Sounds like paradise to me! :yahoo:

How many people live in Paradise? The smallest town I have been in that is actually on the Ontario road map is Kentvale, Ontario, population 9. It has a 'general store', the motto of which is "If we don't have it, you don't need it', and in 30 years, we only caught the out once. We needed a headlamp bulb for Arthur, and they had run out. Mr. Kent's brother down the road at the Esso station had one, though.

Yep. Maybe some semi clad dancing girls and you've got Paradise. :2_thumbs_up_-_anima
Just what in the wide world of Missouri is this place near? I've pretty well been everywhere there man. Especially all the little lakes and rivers.

Paradise is on the northeast side of Smithville Lake. See http://corpslakes.usace.army.mil/visitors/projects.cfm?Id=G516980 for more info about the history of the lake.

If you Google Paradise, MO you'll see the map of where it is. It's on state highway W, right at the bend. I'd guess the population is less than 100.

Smithville Lake is a great place - on the south side is where I take Jake and Elwood for their off-leash runs. Good fishing, very peaceful and quiet there.

One of my best frinds had 40 acres off WW which is off W. Forget exactly how to get there. A nice creek ran down the 40 acre valley separating it into two 20 acre pradises. To get to his place we had to Fordj or Ford, across a sunken cement bridge crossing affair. But after a rain had to go out over a gravel mountain trail. Before getting to his place there was a tiny boat ramp and place to camp on one of those northeastern fingers of the Lake of the Ozarks.
We nearly bought a lot in a campground membership up in those boonies. Sadly our friend died and his land was sold after he only got the basement part and a rough shell on top back into the rock. Now that was paradise.
