It is time to go to SUMMERSCHOOL !! (per Jimmy Buffett) and take our wagons out TO MEET AND GREET. Tonight we head to Big Mo in Monetta SC to the Drive In to catch a few movies. Peaches are getting ripe, church is frying fish and selling bbq plates and we are motoring in the 63 Impala. Lots of thumbs up and a chance to make some new memories. Gotta run... SO WHAT ARE YOU DOING THIS SUMMER WITH YOUR WAGON?? Movie was great, had some fun...Superman was different, and Iron Man 3...even better.
Summertime, and the living is easy. Fish are jumpin'... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87dn4AUP0Yo I'm just hoping to get my wagon down here to Virginia from Massachusettes this summer (so I can actually see it for the first time). But freeze plugs and getting the ac working will hopefully happen first.
Going down to Orange County at the end of July. I'd like to drive the Safari, but gas is just getting too dang expensive. The HHR gets near double the mileage per gallon on the highway.
Taking my Fairlane to Arkansas and catch part of the power tour in a couple of weeks when it goes through there. Got another road trip to Illinois planned for August.
I'll definitely be taking the roadmaster from Florida to upstate ny. Not sure of the date yet. Hoping for it to coincide with wagonfest in geneva. Other than that, I'll just be enjoying her as my daily driver. And, introducing some of the younger generation of interns (20-28) to the beauty and pleasure of driving a large, rear-wheel drive American wagon that was built when people were looking straight ahead. On a side note, it seems like my gas mileage is getting better the more I use her. I always keep track of the mileage, and yesterday was the first time I broke 20 mpg on all around-town driving (no highway). I've put about 20k on her since September. She's now at around 82k. Maybe she's still getting broken in. I just love the smooth power of the LT1. When I drive the Honda now, it feels like a toy. I've really gotten use to the boulevard ride! Smooth as silk! Love it. I'm always on the lookout for another one in great shape to take over in the future. Im hoping to be driving wagons the rest of my life.
Ive already been to a few shows and havent even taken one of the buckets In my teeny tiny bit o spare time Ive been thrashin on the 68 Country Sedan to get it ready for the Trailer meets
I'll be driving the Fury as much as possible. There is a local cruise in at one of the McDonnalds here in town every Friday evening during the summer, so we go to that often. We had some friends up fom Oregon this weekend and they have four kids ages 5-11 They got to go for a couple of rides in the wagon and it was always a discusion on who got to ride in the "Way Back" They loved it. My son was very proud of "His Fury" He did a good job sharing the coveted rear facing seat. My buddy's oldest boy kept talking about how cool the car is. That was a blast. (for the kids too
