lets see now with my four cars ,,three wagons and an el camino i dont think there is enough room on this computer for my list of things to ,,want to do,,,should do,,shouldn,t have done,,what the wife thinks i should do,,,,what i told my neighbor what i think he should do,,,and all other touches of events there in,,, now if i could only win the lotto or some long lost relative remember me in their will for bazillions i could probably get more done without that pesky day (or in my case) night job gettin in the way
1.change rear end gear so the wagon wont have to work so hard. 2.Get new grille for my drivers side. 3.Repaint under the hood. what color should i make the intake? as you can see from my under hood shot it needs a desperate paint job. 4.Put a glasspack racing muffler on it. 5.Fix all the electricals. 6.Eventually get it repainted. 7.REINSTAL the sway bar! (and yes i am driving it around withought one on )
The 81 Eagle is getting a 5.0 and a 8.8 rear with disc brakes out of a 99 Explorer. Also ditching the IFS for a solid front axle. The 86 will be getting a Jeep 4.0 head and fuel injection hopefully.
things i should do...or will do? the will do list is muuuuuch shorter ....i dont even know where to start...k...im doing nuttin... ...wait....im gonna drive them!!
Plans for the 78 Impala are, repair damage caused by Deer strike, add the options that came with the parts car, Tilt, guages, Split bench seat with armrests, Power locks, and repair the A/C system with the parts car that has already been converted to R-134. For the 78 Sunbird Wagon, install the new 4.1 Buick V-6, and go kick some more Honda Tuner Butt at the track!!!!!
um...plans...hmm 1. id like to put some rims (AR torq thrust) on her 2.exhaust...(havent decided who yet...leaning toward dynomax superflow..the pipe bender in town says they may be too loud..but ive had the super turbo on my jeeps and they were almost stock quiet (too quiet)..i wanna hear the engine but not wake the dead) 3. window tint. 4. clean up the woodgrain.. 5. air shocks in the rear.
Are you going to run Dual exhaust or single. If duals you really don't need better mufflers than stock for a nice rumble. I wanted better mufflers on mine but could afford the added cost at the time. That and the mufflers the shop put on look way to big. But having said that it sounds perfect. A beautiful sound out he back but yet not so loud that it interferes with the interior. I was pleasantly surprised how well it came out. THere is a youtube link in my sig. There is a clip on my exhaust. Check it out and see what you think. BTW what size Torq thrusts are you going to get?
Any suggestions how to finaggle a second exhaust pipe under my caprice? There don't look like much room forit.
You basically have the same car as me. Not sure wether you gave the SBO or SBC engine. But here is what I did. It was all done by a local Minekee
I've got the SBO, your job looks very nice and clean. I just got a job at a local shop, so I'm hoping my new boss will give me a discount.
im not wanting to go too big ...i may keep them 15" and get some rwl tires... but no bigger than 17"... because the lower profile the tire, the more expensive they get. as far as the exhaust goes... i have the lt1, all RMW's with the LT1 (1994-1996) have factory duals from the engine back. do you mean stock after cutting the resonators off? because its stock now... and id like it louder.
Plans..... As I am still under construction on getting things together, here is my "To Do" list this year. 1. Just got the head back from getting .100" shaved to raise compression, put it on and get things torqued. 2. Set up dual carb linkage. 3. Bolt bellhousing and tranny to engine and set up floor shifter brakets on the tranny. 4. Install engine and tranny. Cut hole in floorboard for shifter. 5. Set up funtional 70" Lake Pipes. 6. Get new inner door panels installed. 7. Rebuild front seat so I'm not sitting in a hole and get it recovered, (along with recovering back seat) 8. Full Moon Hubcaps. If I get all this done this year I'll be very pleased. Of course, and drive the snot out of it.:icon_drive: I was at the Turkey Run down in Daytona last month and only saw 1 57-58-59 Mopar Station Wagon (very nice, too) so I think I'm on the right track for a truly unique Hot Rod Wagon that will knock your sox off. :2_thumbs_up_-_anima Next year, I want to build my own new Headliner, redo all the window track felts (including the tailgate), new dual resivoir Master Cylinder (maybe front disc brakes?)
