When we retired to Florida nearly 19 years ago we sold our Harley. Said we'd buy another someday. We'd adopted our grandson and with a five year old couldn't find a babysitter in this strange new world very often. So we waited. As age snuck up and things happened, we decided we'd buy a late model Harley trike someday. Our hearts are not happy and someday still hasn't arrived. But I guess we can continue dreaming. However since this began, laws say I need to spend a small fortune taking a motorcycle course to learn to ride again. Prices have quadrupled, and people are driving more like retards than humans. Perhaps we are better off on four wheels. I do agree, follow your dreams if you can. Life is short and time seems to fly when you get older....even if you're not havin fun!
It's true, life can get in the way of things that you think might make your heart happy. But I'm very sure that grandson of yours has made your heart happy in ways that you didn't know that you needed. All you can do is do the best you can with what you have to work with.
