The option to buy neither always remains and can be the most difficult to choose when you are ready to buy. Remember that Spring is probably the worst time to bargain shop as the vehicles sell for the highest amounts, especially drivers.

I would give it a little time. The RM doesn't sound like what you would want, and the other sounds like it is best as a parts car. Even with clean metal, I couldn't see going more than $700 with what you already know. The parts may be worth more than that, but parting out and selling off a car is a pain.

As has been previously mentioned by others, I think I would walk away and continue my search. Best of luck!

I don't mind waiting and spending the summer looking around. It would be fun to make destinations to go view cars on my motorcycle, all over Ontario, wherever, even down to the states like NY or PA.

I just hate the thought of that good solid body roadie getting trashed or derbied.the interior is good, needs cleaning, headliner is sound.no rust on any of the usual spots,no rust anywhere really,a HUGE plus. See, the no rust thing is what is pulling strongly at me.

Which year or model of roadie has the wood grain details inside, the dash and door panels? I am sure my 95 had the nice wood details inside and this 92 doesn't.

I prefer the big box wagons also, but that 87 was just not worth it IMO, @ $500 maybe....but just as a beater, drive till it drops, or a good parts car.

Now the whale wagon you just posted up, it already looks like it has more potential, that's a car that putting a couple grand into for engine etc should give you years of trouble free service:)

The pics of the underside of the roadie, is that what a car looks like that has been under coated consistently? The white marks on the hood are stone chips, and there is a sun burn mark on the roof just above the drivers side, you can just see it in one of the pics.

I will we if I can go over and get some interior pics of the car and put them up. It was to sunny when I was there it was just a big white screen on my ipad, couldn't take any pics.

The '91-'93's actually have a lot more of the plastic wood grain details on the dash in surface area than the later models. I'm not sure about the door panels? I think the small edge trim around the upper inserts on the Roadies up to '93 is woodgrain and there are more woodgrain details on the '94 and up panels.

IF I was to pursue the 87, when calling around auto recyclers for parts, do I ask for parts for an olds B body or for parts from related cars, such as...Buick lesabre, olds 88,chevy caprice....ect....and am I missing any other car I could use for reference?

I went to see a couple more wagons y.day. Holy, moly, the one a Buick estate, the body was gone,I guess the lower door being held together with duct tape.......and the other rear pass door than crumbled and showered rust every time you opened and closed the door......sigh......the interior was good, although filthy.

The other was a Buick century,I figured, why not, it was on the way home. Meh.....snooze. Although, I had a great idea while I was riding looking for the address,as it was in a mobile park.

Since they are generally populated by older folks, I could Suss out the nice mobile parks and ride through looking for all the big old wagons that old folks hang onto forever.:)

And then I knock on the door and sweet talk them into selling me thier car at a great price cause it will be going to a loving home! Somewhere in a mobile park, there is a hidden gem of a wagon just waiting for me!!!!!
