Was running around the Intarweb (invented by Al Gore) and spotted this cool kit to install coilover shocks on the back of an A body. Threaded aluminum shock bodies the works. Would these then take the place of the original springs or would you use them together? Seems a bit of over kill using 4 springs back there but then I don't know about the design of putting all that spring pressure and body weight on one little bolt and bracket either. Thoughts?

I though his name was Algorezeera now?:D

Those coilovers wouldn't work without the regular springs.
You really shouldn't use the shock mounts to hold up the weight of the car.
I don't know why you would need four springs either?
    Road racing applications?
My cars only go good in a straight line so I'm no curvy suspension dude.
My Custom Cruiser is about the furthest thing from a corner carver you can get .:D

I don't think I'll be autocrossing in my wagon either, but I downloaded the instruction .pdf file and it plainly states to remove the springs yet doesn't say when or how to reinstall them. That just seems weird...

Do you have a link to the coilovers you are talking about? Many coilovers take the place of the original springs.

That right there precludes reinstallation of the OE springs.

ok gotcha. So besides looking cool and being expensive and having a million adjustments, are they that much better for a weekend cruise mobile? I just can't seems to want them bad enough...

Check out some reviews online. I've heard of bad reviews on the QA1 shocks. Afco and Ridetech also make coilovers I believe for the A body.
